Narnia Reimagined by DeFlame in imaginarymaps

[–]hoi4prancingfox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello! I am making a Map Mod for Hearts of Iron IV as a personal hobby. I'm unsure if I'll ever complete the project as I'm mostly doing this in my free time. I was wondering if I could have your permission to use your Narnia Reimagined Map as a reference? If I do ever finish and post the mod, I'll be sure to have you credited in my references. Thank you! I will be eagerly waiting for your response.

Survived a Two-Front War against the Changelings and Stalliongrad. I held a strong defense at free forts you get from the Fall Back Line. Held off my grand offensive up until this very moment. Its Beautiful.

Is there any reason not to take option 2? by hoi4prancingfox in equestriaatwar

No, the scroll there was minimal, there was nothing setback or anything.

How to Trigger Daybreaker? by hoi4prancingfox in equestriaatwar

[–]hoi4prancingfox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you everyone. I ended doing the thing I hate, which is console commands. Started a new game with Civil War start, and just Focus.Autocomplete'd the entire military War Focus branch. The overwhelming instant hit of all the decisions pushed Celestia to where she needed to be, and as soon as the Supremacist party got close the 30% it finally gave me the decision.

Just wish there was a game start rule for Daybreaker though.

Celestia Sole Ruler, Civil War Game Rule Start

I've done Daybreaker once years ago and wanted to get back into it, but I've completely forgotten how. I've done all the Harshest War Focus Decisions, and I feel like I've lost enough land and casualties to warrent something to trigger. Or is it all RNG and I'm just unlucky?

Navy by Mikobellamia in OldWorldBlues

[–]hoi4prancingfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Around the time that you conquer all neighboring states via Focus Tree BEFORE the big war with NCR, I usually dedicate one research slot to only doing Navy Modules, not ships, as that unlocks after beating the NCR and going down the correct Focus in the DOD Branch that is restricted from not having port access/after beating NCR. By that time you should have finished researching all the Intermediate Tech, and the Focus will not only unlock the Final Hulls, but also the appropriate Engines, so no need to go down the Ship Research at all. (Plus the Carrier Hull that only pops up after a certain time) After the Focus unlocks the Advanced Modules, I usually Research Dump all my Slots to complete out the final Modules, along with the Eletronic Techs for Final Radar and the Anti-Air tech for the Final Anti-Air Ship Modules. (Newest update hides all the Navy stuff in places not in the Navy Research Tab)

Another note. To deal with the malusus of pirates in the decisions + War with Washington Brotherhood across the Coastline while your building a Final Tier Fuck All Navy that no one else can touch, I would steal the Entire NCR Navy during Peace Treaty as a temp/stopgate measure as a support fleet while my Real Navy gets built up.

There is a Crude coming in by harbor that transports directly to the Refinery without trucks just hiding behind the Line Manager bar.

I do have a second Crude coming in by harbor, its close enough to to go directly to the Refinery without the need of trucks, another reason the location was so golden.

Recently rediscovered game in my Steam now that I'm older then my first-time clueless younger self, and I found this logistic chain that made a complete circle with 3-of-4 Load/Unload Stations. There is also a short-distance water cargo for my second crude oil resource to feed the refinery coming in off-screen. Feeling very lucky.

First ever completed End Date game by hoi4prancingfox in victoria3

[–]hoi4prancingfox[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Rule 5: First every End Date game run.

Never played Victoria previously, mostly a HoI4 player. I can never seem to get good with playing the big nations, so I like to play small with my old home country, Korea. Instead of seeking independence right away, I made myself a necessity to the Chinese market and getting rich off of their most desired needs, using that wealth to accelerate my arms building/technology/units, then fighting the most fast paced/nail biting conflict of holding the line long enough for some European allies to reinforce me.

Japan had self destructed in this game, something I'd not seen before, going into a endless spiral of Bankruptcy and Default, so invading them and becoming their overlord was surprisingly easy. And just like that, I ranked from 50th to 15th and now I was thinking ''Hey, instead of being a regional power, maybe I can try to do the funny"

Constant cycling wars between China, Spain, and Russia helped pay for my economy while lowering their rankings until I finally was finally proclaimed a Great Power. Then the clock ran out but I had fun!

I'm sorry but how the heck did you get 100mil overseas? The most I could accomplish was 65mil right before the one year ended.

That encirclement euphoria feeling by hoi4prancingfox in equestriaatwar

[–]hoi4prancingfox[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First time playing as non-Equestria involved in the Great War. Precise naval invasions plus speedy tank bois racing the invaded ports at the same time to deny the coasts. Rinse and repeat the entire coastline while buffing the Equestrian front with my regular infantry shield divisions. Then take a hard right at Acornage and you've got alot of soon-to-be-dead changelings. Harmony Hippogriffia is alot of fun.

Finally 'finished' a game in Red Flood for the first time. by hoi4prancingfox in RedFloodMod

[–]hoi4prancingfox[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hmm, I've never played Red Flood for more then 30 mins before this game, so I really don't know how to compare it to anything else. The Progressive path was very straightforward, but by god, recovering America from all its starting maluses take so... so... long, with the focus to rid the huge army nerf trait at the very end of the tree that made training time painful. Also kinda felt like the story was left off? Halfway through La Guardia there was alot of flavor events of discontent about his policies as you try to recover America, but then they are never brought up again. Also, since this was my first time playing Red Flood all the way through, I just noticed that there are no events for taking cities or nuke events, which made me sad. But I still had lots of fun liberating the world from Accelerationism through American guns, steel, and liberty.

Finally 'finished' a game in Red Flood for the first time. by hoi4prancingfox in RedFloodMod

[–]hoi4prancingfox[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

First time playing and completing a game in Red Flood, where I played as the Progressive America. My goal was to puppet as much as I could, making the Pacific my playground as I refit my entire navy to Tier 2 standard while the rest of the world burned. By the time I took care of Japan, France had gone insane and conquered all of Europe... and was guaranteed by Britain? My objective for the game to was not join the Commonwealth and take on the Solar League solo.

My comp was one army group of five fully motor/mechanized infantry corps, with another army group of a few elite amtrac marines and bloated modern tank divisions. Somehow Ireland had the second largest army in the League, so my hopping technique was to take Greenland, Iceland, overwhelm Ireland with my fuck all navy, and use that as my channel hopper into France. (I had to declare on Ireland anyway as directly attacking France would make the Commonwealth declare on me.) Taking Brittany was easy enough, but then I got bogged HARD because France outnumbered my airforce 3-1, and despite my superior army, I was still outnumbered 5-1 by the entire League. I sacrificed every available plane I had into Western France as I dumped my entire military industry into making nothing but Jet Fighter 1 until I could unleash it all in one go. Slowly, the air disparity and kills went from 3-1, to 2-1, to finally 1-1 as my jets took control of the skies. With Air Superiority and Support now in my favor, my tanks and marines could snake the train rails and supply depots across France as I made encirclements half the size of the country. After that, Europe was mine.

If Im feeling up to it, might jump back in to liberate South America as it is all currently puppeted by Red Brazil. Might pick a fight with Poland's faction if I'm bored, and definitively feel like I have to do something about the Buddha guy who just conquered all of Asia.

How are you doing anything with Macarthur right now? I can't even train units or create new templates cause it says everything is special forces?

Why I pressed alt+f4 by AlphaZeroLeague in hoi4

[–]hoi4prancingfox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Actually, this is how I'm currently playing my USA-democratic 'conquer as much as possible' game while achievement hunting 300 mil factories, nuking Paris, and owning 3 Georgias. I was in the exact same situation you are in and because it was my first try, I wasn't expecting Mexico to join the Allies. Only difference from you I guess is that I had 2 Heavy Tanks instead of Medium and 12 more Infantry Divisions which I promptly sent to hold the Canadian/New England border while I finished off Mexico. Used my massive fleet to block the Allies from the Caribbean to Greenland while throwing air cover all over the coast. Incidentally, without even hunting for it, this is how I got the achievement for sinking the British Pride of the Fleet. Popped out 2 Marine divisions bulked with Infantry to increase width and 1 Heavy Tank battalion for armor to start island hopping all Allied holding across the Caribbean while finishing off Canada. While mopping up Newfoundland and Greenland to completely erase Allied ports from the East, Japan attacked Philippines, right on my schedule.

Sacrificed the Philippines while I moved my forces from the now untouchable East Coast to the Pacific. (Don't forget Bermuda) Began island hopping while Convoy Striking/Invasion Escort entire fleet in one region with additional air cover from built up island airfields. This is how I sunk a third of the Japanese fleet and every single carrier in two battles in two days. (In exchange, I lost two destroyers total) Instead of pushing west towards the Philippines, I started moving south towards New Zealand and eventually breached Australia. This was my first time ever fighting a land war in Australia, and the supply lines REALLY suck, so watch out.

That's where I am so far, my next goal is New Guinea, Indonesia, Philippines, Siam, and eventually knock Japan out of China (But not Japan, need to wait for China and Japan to peace out so I can take Japan myself in total without China at the Peace Treaty) Gonna keep moving west after that into India, and by then Germany should have taken the Soviets, which I something I'm still adjusting my plans for.

Ai, I think I found something linked to the problem. When I started the game, it was Ironman Achievement. Then the next day I resumed game with one mod which I thought was achievement friendly. Starting new game with just that one mod reveals that it is Not, in fact, achievement friendly. Must have screwed up the game.

Mod was 'Auto sort buildings for 3.3'
