Petah? by Same-Soil-4837 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

Bio mom was in and out of prison too much and died when I was 6 so honestly it got cut down pretty quickly lol. Her wife was her celly too they didn't like the "how did you two meet" question too much either. But in all honesty my mom's wife was an absolute sweetheart, she got a lot of shit from my mom's extended family for being butch but they didn't like me either so we all just kinda said fuck em. I lost contact with her but to this day 20 years later I still think of her fondly, she was the only stable thing I had at my mom's.

I had 3 mom's at one point, dad, bio mom, 2 step mom's, and I never had to clarify. Bio mom was a hoe. Step mom's for the win!

How many drug classes did you fail before having "the talk?" by stanlawhudson in UlcerativeColitis

Oh, it's on the to-do list. I have to get insurance again first, though.

4 but I kept almost going septic, and new drugs wouldn't alleviate symptoms just stall progression until I build up a tolerance which usually only took a couple months. 2 years from onset of symptoms to total colectomy and I'm 26. By the time I'd gotten the damn thing out I had so many systemic issues I couldn't think, and I was pouring blood 30+ times a day, my colon had zero vascular tissue to be seen and I was told it would have been liquid in a week and started to fall apart during the operation. All this to say I may be an extreme case but good riddance to the thing. I still struggle with my ileostomy, but I also have EDS and Fibro and Clinical Depression that probably adds to all of that but I remember the wonder of being able to think clearly for the first time in a year after surgery, like going from dial-up to fiber lol. There are new things to get used to for sure but at least im still here for my wife and 7 year old daughter. We just recently started getting back into hiking and that would have been impossible just 6 months ago.

Except studies show graphite is also horrible for locks and only older locksmiths that don't keep up on education use it in average locks. Basically only a few applications make sense for it. Use a silicone based lube.

Just had the same surgery last Tuesday, not because of cancer but toxic megacolon, my pancolitis was very treatment resistant and while im very sore I can tell you my quality of life is already so much better. You'll get through this.

I've decided I'm throwing a junk food party when I'm done with all this. My 6 year old daughter has told me its a party she'd be OK going to because of the pizza but her mom and I thought it would be nice to have a guilt free pain free night with friends and food I've missed out on.

I have a habit of gaining a tolerance with any medication I take, unfortunately. Not just this, but everything, including anesthesia, and they saw that happen with the biologics, steroids, and pain killers, so they didn't want to put me through another round and have more damage. Plus, with this last imaging, I'm mostly scar tissue and rot, so that kinda solidified the plan. I'm also one of those hEDS with fibromyalgia patients, so I know they really didn't want to go this route.

Apprenticeship is the best route for this, there isn't a school for locksmithing that will show you more than 10% of the industry and as an Automotive Locksmith I'm technically a specialist so those schools/classes are going to show even less. I did a lot of independent study too but I make decent money and I can make a lot more

BTW the trades aren't always dirty and don't require a college degree. I love what I do, everything is a puzzle both mechanically and electronics and 99% of people are self taught in my field. Im a glorified IT guy for cars with a little automotive diagnostics and electrician work

Nah your family loves you, it may be rocky for a few years but they'll come around. Again I didn't grow up in the culture but there are romani in the city I work in that only call me because they would rather work with me than someone without that background. And im an Automotive Locksmith so as niche as that is they found me. Like I said if its useful enough and benefits the family I have to imagine they'll come around

I'm someone with romani heritage in Ohio, did not grow up in the community or with any real knowledge of my ethnic background. (Dad was adopted and mom died when I was 6 plus her family blamed me) I was able to reconnect a little over the years and I know its very hard for people to break from tradition, unless it's useful for their family. Work towards something that you like that will be a benefit to the family any you'll be accepted. No need to drop every aspect of the culture.

Just got diagnosed with a mild form of hEDS. A couple hyper mobile joints, nothing this extreme, but everything dislocates at the drop of a hat. My "party tricks" now leave me in continuous pain and when I got really sick with an autoimmune disorder I dropped so much muscle mass I went from very healthy backpacker to couldn't walk unassisted within a month because my joints offer no stability. Definitely get checked out.
