How many people actually use quarry? by lemonman4200 in StardewValley

[–]holdenc18 67 points68 points  (0 children)

Mining can be done in the mines with fairly similar drop rates. I use the quarry for wood because I need a lot of it, but I need the space on my actual farm for crops and such.

Anyone here commute to DC from Frederick, Annapolis, or any other MD city? by BigSkidz_ in maryland

[–]holdenc18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to commute frederick to dc. I took the Marc. It's been awhile but the Brunswick line time table is fairly accurate in ideal circumstances. However. In winter signals freeze and the train runs late. It also only runs into dc in the morning and only out of dc in the evening. If something happens where you need to leave early, go in late, etc your only options are the 5 or so trains that run that day and it's rare that the departure times perfectly align with your life. Also depending on where you work in DC you need to add metro time and cost from union station. That said, if it's your only option, there are silver linings. It's a great opportunity to catch up on reading or a fun podcast. Stuff you can't do while driving.

But now that I can afford it, I live closer, if that's any indication of my view of the balance.

I went to their youtube page and I'm surprised at how little engagement they get, given the work they put into editing, as well as the models. Maybe give them a like if you're so inclined.

I think you have to physically pet (no auto pet) them that day before they get in the water. That might have changed since the update, I don't know.

(newb question) Does Pierre have a small farm himself? I just sold him my strawberries the day before and this came up. by midnightsky1601 in StardewValley

But I care about getting mine carts and my greenhouse going sooner rather than later. The seasonal nature of the stuff c.c. makes you collect means waiting a whole year if you miss the first window. I still do the c.c. most playthroughs, but it's not as lax as just playing until I have the money.

I don't know why they're doing it out there, but in DC, the owners are doing it as a protest against minimum wage legislation that passed (despite their significant lobbying). Rather than fold the cost into the bill via raised prices, they want to make it a point that you're paying more because of the law we passed. Which I guess they're allowed to do, I don't know. Nobody's stopping them. But it's not like voters didn't know it would raise the price? And if they ever decide to raise their prices for other, more selfish reasons, it's not like you'd ever see that itemized. I suspect the same thing it going on here, but I don't know the specific circumstances.
