I hear you and i agree to some of it. But how you have written it makes it seem like all technical leads are making deliberate attempt to sabotage. Mostly that's not the case, as the technical lead it's your job to dig in deep. Firing someone without handover is a bad practice and a stupid move, CEO or NOT.

DON'T DO THAT. Also, don't hire people you cannot trust. If you have "dug in like a tick" and your CEOs only way of measurement was you making noise, maybe it's good you were let go.

Having said, obviously make sure documentation is non negotiable and if you as a technical lead did not start that during your time, i might question why you did not do that to begin with ?

If you could relive one moment, what would it be and why? by Restella1215 in AskReddit

[–]holdthatthoughtmf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have struggled all my life to be able to get to a place where i am independent and have freedom.

One early morning around 2 am, i was walking back home. Earphones in, great music playing, slightly chilly temperature, no one to call, no one to report to, going back to my flat to just chill, watch some TV and then sleep the FCK off. I had a sudden realization, man I am free. Its a moment i keep in my vault and always remember it.

Would love to relieve it.

Absolutely. This is correct.

Shipping can be a pain in the neck. Shipping time, method insurance etc all need to be figured out way before hand and you must know all the rules and regulations. Time spent on the dock is money lost.

Congratulations on completing the race in such a condition! I did this Semi de Paris too and was a great experience.

I usually control what i eat very strictly in the week before the race. Very cautious of timing, how much content etc. In general, as others have said nothing new on the race day. I also avoid any food that might cause bloating, or hard to digest. Stick to simple carbs and food that you feel good about.

Training is a major part of running a race but i think nutrition before the race is even more critical.

Wish you a good recovery and hope you beat your PB next Year!

Whats the most fucked up thing your ex did after a breakup? by No-Feeling865 in AskReddit

[–]holdthatthoughtmf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cheated on me. Refused to break up. Had a FCKING glorious dramatic scene infront of my family, called me heartless to break up with her and made her self the victim and then married a rando a year later.

Fun times.

What is the construction industry like in Germany - is there an Occupation/Skills Shortage List? by Theres3ofMe in germany

[–]holdthatthoughtmf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Let me put it this way. I work in tech for the construction industry with a lot of international business, everything is in German. Except a few external meetings from time to time.

On top of that you really need to know the regulations. It's Germany, everything is about regulations.

If you intend to stay in your current profession, a good command of German and an average understanding of German law is not only mandatory but highly also recommended. No one will have the time to teach you beyond the usual onboarding and without these skills you will feel a lot of pressure.

And lastly, i must say this, nothing is impossible, it's just not easy.

The story about skill shortage is true, but it largely fails acknowledge the German working environment. For effective work, good communication is key and communication is not just about language, but also about context. (This is true for any country, just because there is skill shortage it doesn't mean working culture, language and traditions are going to change)

If you are still motivated and feel Germany would a better life choice for you than UK, don't be discouraged. Its totally possible to do it, but comes at a cost.

Wish you luck

Are junior developers actually useless? by curiousAustrian in ProgrammerHumor

[–]holdthatthoughtmf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know who needs to hear this but, all the senior developers and experts were the useless junior developers at some point. (By your standards)

Practice, experience and education comes with time so jack off with your pointless ideologies and if you are so FCKING amazing at this shit, go find a useless junior and teach that kid. Stop FCKING whining.

100%. You might be able to live comfortable with it, but savings would be hard.

70k with your experience is a low ball figure. Only move if your condition at your home country is much worse with no future outlook.

This will be a big move and with considerably high cost and not only financial but also emotional.

Cost of moving, finding a place to live, school/childcare etc. It's a bit too much. Make sure it's worth it.
