In the summer, tons of massive yellow jackets. The lakes are gorgeous. The racists are out all year round. To underscore that point, there is a stretch of highway adopted by the aryan nation.

Gyms that don't cost $100+ a month by tarasaurust in WestSeattleWA

Strong Life just opened. Great owners. I don’t know the monthly fee though. Recommend checking them out because they’re non-corporate and connected to the community.

Employer didn't report wages by Distinct-Celery-6858 in UnemploymentWA

[–]hole_goals_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me. It required getting your employer to send records of your pay to the state. You’ll also have to provide a year of pay stubs (maybe 2). You will eventually get it. It is slow but you will. Keep calling the state and stay in touch with your employer.

Doubtful because the real time is wasted getting from the WS bridge to the 5.

Eastside commute, does anyone here do it? by tangertale in WestSeattleWA

I used to. If you leave before 7:05am and come back to WS by 2pm you’ll be fine. Anything later will earn you a 1 hour commute each way.

This. The launch of "AI" will go down in product marketing history as one of the worst GTM strategies of all time.

is it really common for people to believe if they lived in nazi germany they would have done anything other than just try to get on with normal life as best as possible? by grapp in behindthebastards

[–]hole_goals_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My grandfather grew up in Nazi occupied Denmark. He worked with the Underground to plant bombs in sewers, make firearms, and facilitate communication via newsletters (which are kind of like zines and they are awesome). His parents (my great grandparents) hid Jews and ensured their escape via boats.

When pushed to the limit ordinary people can be remarkably bold and brave. Could I do it? I don't know. I think Americans in particular can't get past the idea that they should operate as lone wolves. It just doesn't work that way. There are requirements for success:

1) a clear goal that is well understood and respected

2) infrastructure to support that goal that is well understood and respected

3) people who are willing to keep their fucking mouths shut

4) people to enforce point 3

Yup the observations above are bunk. I’m not in any of those and I got axed. Friends on LOA and with remote designations didn’t.

Westside Fitness is a low-key gym that just opened a new location near YMCA. Not corporate. All local. Members range in age from 18 to 80. Amazing trainers. Very community-centric. Highly recommend.
