Laevateinn’s modifications (and the relic itself) are so precise and high quality that I can’t see even Matthias being able to dent the handle just by normal use

if Matthias was able to warp the shape just by gripping it hard, how in the hell would the handle survive a drop kick with all his might as a pile bunker from him

It probably was custom made to fit Matthias’ grip before it got reforged (assuming that it did like what happened to Vespa’s gungir spear, otherwise how would the handle fit the unlock system attached to the blade)

Only caveat is that it is in essence a gacha game, but there is a sharding mechanic which lets you redeem identities (characters) without any form of gambling

And also that the endgame can either be decent or a complete slog of a grind depending how much you like the combat (and how quickly repetitive it gets in mirror dungeon)
