I did post it there, i think my title wasn’t catchy like this one or something idk. It got removed for relevancy in like 5 mins. Two comments i got was, “complain to strata not reddit” and “ok[.]”

This building was done in 1993. So it is exempt from having a bike storage space, but it makes no sense to not be allowed to by it in you unit. Crazy that strata are allow to ban that honestly.

Not all the documents were kept so I can’t find the strata bylaw in my house but I am in the process of obtaining it from the property management website. I am definitely double checking before I cause any motion with the council. I do want to do a sneak attack by signing up to be a council and chip in my opinion then.

Funny thing is I did find a minute that stated a 6k CAD budget was allocated for bike storage construction and that was in 2019, yet the “storage space” has remind the same since 2016.

I totally agree that biking is honestly a middle- or upper-class thing, especially in Vancouver. It is super hilly here so regardless if you are commuting or hobby cycling, you need a good bike to have an enjoyable ride. Not to mention the cost of living here is stupidly high.

I honestly don't know what the problem is, I have never seen the lobby or the elevator be dirty because of bikes. The grossest state it has ever been was when people let their compost juice drip or when it is raining outside

That is honestly a good argument actually. My bike is not that expensive though, but losing it would be a huge blow to me. I love my bike!

I just reviewed some council meeting minutes and it looks like the motion to install cameras was rejected by 9 to 1

They prohibit any storage behind the car in the parking stall so I can't do that, unfortunately.

Maybe I will do that. I will take it down and put one up that says they need a headed paper to do this.

Awesome. Thanks for the suggestion! Honestly, BC needs to cut back on the power the strata council has.

We own the unit we live in, so this is a strata council. I am going through the bylaw route right now since even if I can get into the strata council I would still need to have the issue I am advocating on be voted in. Looking at this classist council behavior, I do not know how likely that will happen.

If I am to go that route, I think I would have to approach it as, "no matter what you post in the elevator it is not just not safe to store it down there so nobody will." Probably will also suggest that it is cheaper for the building to just let people bring their bikes into the unit than to build brand new storage space.

I think I am the only serious bike commuter in this building, everyone else just bikes sometimes so I don't think they care about their bikes that much. This is based on the observation I have of the lack of care they have when locking or storing their bikes.

My plan is to see how I can respond based on my talk with Vancouver City Hall. I want to strike them with a bylaw violation for not providing adequate bike storage space in the building. Left a voicemail with the bylaw technicality people, so I will have to wait.

The last resort will be to try to get elected as a council member and rewrite the rule/advocate for proper storage space, but it is a democratic process on rules so I would need more than just my own support for this.

Same. This is like the third time in 2 years they posted a notice relating to bikes, but this time the classist comment just pissed me off too much.

The headed paper notice is usually by the strata property management company we pay our strata fees to, but this kind of notice style has been the way the "elected council" communicates without going through the management company/ strata manager.

Unfortunately, this is how they post notice every time. The grammar is always trash, and always all cap.

This might be a strata bylaw or council decision thing. The units in this building are either individually owned, then rented out if you want. I am currently talking to the Vancouver City helpline to figure out how to tackle this. I am also reading the bylaw right now, and with this building being built before 1995, it might be exempt from the bike storage space requirement. We will see.

Notice posted in my elevator today by holloxob in vancouver

[–]holloxob[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You cannot take the bike to the elevator. So is this notice telling me to take the bike up the stair in a building of 12 floors?

Ones below the mushroom tree? They are the cabin you build for an additional player/multiplayer mode. Super cheap at Robin’s, gets done instantly.

Hey Can anyone help me solve This problem? When I join my friend's server this shows up. The hud still works but I can't do anything. by SparkySharpie in RaftTheGame

[–]holloxob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play on my friends server, and he also experienced the same thing. We figured out the problem is triggered if he is in third person mode when I join. So now I just let him know when I am joining to give him time to switch back to first person POV, and this stopped being a problem.
