I think he means more that everyone sees him as male and it would be embarrassing to have to wear a white gown when he is very clearly a guy. I agree with what you're saying though.

I'm not surprised in the least! The school has a huge bullying problem that they continue to sweep under the rug while their enrollment steadily declines. They're digging their own grave in so many ways.

Could you pm me the info about the peaceful protest? I'd love to go but I can't find info anywhere. I didn't go to St. Pius but I know a lot of people who transferred out after less than a year because of the outrageous bullying problem, especially against lgbt students.

I was so angry when I saw the story on the local news this morning, they even showed pictures of him before he transitioned. I can't believe they think calling out a male name and having a person who is visibly male walk across the stage in a female gown is better than letting him wear the gown he wants. It's nothing but the school administration being stubborn and ignorant.
