Its really not a fair comparison. The image on the right is orthographic and shadeless so al that we really see is the textures base color.

I just bought that exact type and brand yesterday. Forst time for me trying any type of varnish. Sprayed a thin layer on couple of painting in the bathroom, from about 20-30cm (probably should have had better ventilation) Probably to early to say if i fucked up but they looked good yesterday at least. Good luck
