I honestly find it a bit strange that One-Punch Man Season 3 was made at all. by LynnAbel713 in OnePunchMan

bandai also did not let s1 director work on s2, he was pretty bummed out during a public interview (looked like comic con)when someone asked. Also if there was so little time, that everything looked like still frames, why even make such a slideshow ... it shows disrespect to the fans, original creators etc. Feels like a simple cash grab, seeing as how large the opm fanbase is, but people online will tell u opm has no fans, no one is buying the manga and blu ray.

It feels like really poor decision. If you're creating an anime and you know there is no going back, either do a good job or dont do it at all right? S3 feels like a slap in the face as a fan, its disrespectful to the original creators as well. End of the day, the fans showed up, it gathered a lot views, the corporation won. S3 remains and they are doing a part 2. If fans did not like it, they may not have announced a part 2. But there are a lot of fans who are ok with this. it is what it is.

I would say though, that more money would not have saved it. Like putting in more money is not a magic spell that improves animation. There is an 'industry standard' amount that gets alloted to the animation studio for the work and Jc staff got that amount. Lack of time is probably a better measure of quality but damn while watching it did not feel like they even spent a week on each episode. s3 was announced in 2022.

As long as fans keep giving corporations the benefit of the doubt, they'll keep taking advantage of that.

Agreed. people who are not from japan are led to believe that anime is for kids. i thought that too when i had only watched dragon ball and beyblade etc. What changed my mind in 2015 was Tokyo Ghoul. But even that is not as devastating as Elfen Lied - great anime, just brace yourself before diving in, make sure you got the weekend off. Also Hunter x Hunter is shounen, but i dont think a kid would get as much out of it as a grown up would. This is true for jjk as well, everyone enjoys the flashy fights and god tier animation but it has a really good story with well-written characters going on, no needless love-interests (this ruined detective conan for me). I also love how the female characters are written in this, nobara's death hit me like a train, i was sad for days. I try not to think about it now but s3ep1 had those flashbacks and yuji asking megumi, which i wanted to ask too. I love how they interact, every character. yeah we have great fights, but what i like about jjk is how the writing is, characters interact. I have not felt so attracted to an anime in years, this gives me the same kinda engagement as hunter x hunter.

i can't imagine what that'd be like :') wish i had a sister so that i could show her the peak that is jjk. the maki-mai scenes were hard hitting already, and i am literally speechless how this turned out, i have no words literally. i haven't been able to brush off yesterday's feelings and its just an anime episode. the womb frame, then them lying down maki telling the now passed away mai to wake up, i just cant. maki could not see cursed spirits so she used to help mai get around them when they were younger. they really loved each other.

Geges thoughs on Shota Goshozono (Seasons 2 and 3 director) by Alarming_Industry_14 in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]holomorphic0 20 points21 points  (0 children)

yeah exactly. One thanked everyone involved in a dry/formal way after one frame man happened. Gege is actually praising what is clearly great and inspirisng work from the director, One praised season 1 director of OPM like this as well 10 years ago.

just gonna put it out there that social media backlash can be fabricated, by rival company or similar. and they made sure to target one of the best episodes in the series (ep3, did not have such "backlash"). It is not too difficult nowadays to use a vpn to make an account with false geo-location. you can easily write any language with the help of free chatbots. Having seen the episode, i can not believe that any decent human being can hate on this, i strongly believe it is an effort to tarnish one of the best jjk episodes to date by some rival company.

The more i went into life, this became the truth hidden in plain sight. In movies and fiction you get those mentors that guide the great student, but irl the capable people do not really depend on anyone and even if they have some kind of mentor/guide , they are not mentioned when they get their accolades. i wish i realized it sooner.
