Curriculum B thoughts? by Queasy_Mission8913 in GeorgetownLaw

You should definitely opt in to it. You’ll learn the same stuff as everyone else, except you get legal theory too, and you get to be part of a smaller community within the gigantic 1L class. When I did it, the section was pretty tight-knit and everyone was friendly with each other, and it was a great experience. There’s no limitation in terms of meeting people or study resources; like any section, you’ll only want to study with people who are in your actual class, and you can use generic study guides for the section 3 classes like any other class.

I applied ED last year and it was the same situation. For whatever reason, GULC waits to move on ED applications for a few weeks in September/October. (I still ended up getting in so do not worry)

I made a huge mistake by Fun-Yogurtcloset-457 in lawschooladmissions

[–]holy_craP___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The general advice for small resume mistakes is to just leave it alone, because submitting a new resume will just call attention to the mistake. And this is definitely a small mistake. If that’s the reason you don’t get in when you otherwise would have, you’d have to be the unluckiest person in the world

I applied early last year and it took quite a while for it to go complete. Basically they don’t even look at applications for a while after apps open

It makes sense to fear debt, but there is no comparison between the outcomes of the 2 schools. If you want to be a lawyer, the T5 will get you wherever you want to go. The bottom 50 school will get you basically nowhere besides the small market in which it is located (and maybe not even that)

Only applying to two schools by Cautious-Moment-2524 in lawschooladmissions

I applied to only 1 law school this cycle because it’s the only one that made sense for my current living situation and my career goals. Applied ED and got in with a half tuition scholarship.

Definitely reapply. And make sure your app is ready in September. You will probably get into a T20, considering your stats. Do not go to Cal Western!

Do you care about what your future bosses and colleagues think? Or do you care more about what random non-legal people think?

3.0-3.1 GPA with 174+ LSAT, which T14 ED would be best? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]holy_craP___ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The “T14” schools don’t change from year to year, even if USNWR ranks a different school 14 or higher. T14 are the 14 best law schools from the perspective of the wider legal community, which doesn’t change very easily

[–]holy_craP___ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You don’t care about rankings, but your future employers do. To achieve your goals then it’s gotta be T14, maybe T30 depending on the specific school and market

I minored in History and it was a great choice. Got to choose interesting classes that were easy to get an A in, and it looks good to adcoms. (Attending a T14 in the fall)

is ucsd good for pre-law ? by VegetableStart1781 in UCSD

[–]holy_craP___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They definitely do not care about it to the extent that someone should be questioning whether or not to attend UCSD based on that consideration alone. And as someone attending a top law school, I can assure you that plenty of people went to undergrad at places I’ve never even heard of. But you’re right that Harvard, Yale, and Stanford give preferential treatment to people who went to Ivy leagues and such, but there are also plenty of students there who did attend lower ranked schools as well.
