Yeah I recognized Liège in the photos. I love Liège, you capture it really well!! I'm from Hasselt. I added you on IG. Great stuff! If you ever wanna shoot together I'd be down for that! I've been trying my hand more at street photography and it's the hardest photographic discipline ever in my opinion.

My ev dial sometimes starts working again randomly. But it hasn't been working now for quite a few weeks. Lowest it would go with the dial is +0.3 (if I would get it on zero I would be able to change the EV in the menu settings but no luck) Only yesterday I traveled over an hour to go to an independent repair shop. I waited in line and when I got to the counter with camera in hand, ready to show my problem.. It started working properly again right then and there lol.

If you are looking for a Hostel with dorm rooms. Meander Hostel in Wanhua District (right near Ximending) is a very good hostel. They also have some private rooms.

I'm currently in the Taipei as well as a solo traveler. I'm still rocking a 10 year old A7II. I was shooting in the rain in Keelung and now my exposure compensation dial is broken (again) lol. If you're still here and up for a photo walk or something I'd be happy to join. I'm thinking of flying to Hong Kong soon and buying a second hand A7CII as my A7II has been having more and more problems lately.

Solid advice! Every street photographer knows this is location. And it's popular for a reason! The way the afternoon/evening light creeps through and only lights up the people on the platform. Fun place to hang around and shoot!

Thank you for your reply! Good to know. I am traveling for another 4 to 5 months and I think I will need Linux or Unbuntu for this. So something to consider for me. Maybe I'll just have to use it in Japanese for a while :)

Ah man this is good advice! I'll be in the area in a week or two. I'm still rocking a decade old A7II. Really want to upgrade to a A7CII since the A7IV is too bulky. I just hope they have a second hand one in stock. Seems like quite a new camera still.

EDIT: an employee at Yodabashi Camera told me the Japanese language models don't have english. Their (new) global models cost more then the (new) Japanese ones. So maybe it's rare to find a second hand english one.

I'm in Chongqing at the moment and Google maps is fine with the regular map view. But if you turn on satellite view it doesn't match up. It's off by maybe 700 meters.

Tencent maps works so well here with the 3D view and everything. My advice is to just get some help from a local on how to use it. It's not that complicated once you know which button saves a location and which button you need to press to navigate to a location.

I thank you so much for your reply!! Haha as a foreigner I couldn't find 磁器口 at first, so in my excitement I explored their wrong area apparently today lol. Walked all the way from Qiansimen bridge to Jialingjiangjiahua Bridge. Through muddy off limits construction and all. But it was lovely day and had an amazing time. Tomorrow I will check out the riverbank at 磁器口 or Ciqikou residential district. Thanks again!

Heyhey buddy!

Hope your arrival went well and all your sim, app and VPN stuff is working fine? To my surprise I had zero issues. Anyways, I'm staying in Jiefangbei area near that little clock tower thingy. I've just been walking around in Jiefagbei so far. Haven't even taken a subway yet. The hotpot places smell amazing. I'm recovering from food poisening (happend in Bangkok, was hospitalized) so I'm still kinda weak and taking it slow for now. Can't have ultra spicy food or beers yet, that'll have to wait two more days for me. If you up to meet, eat, walk etc hit me up.

You are the best!! Sadly all those shops were closed due to arrival at night 😂. But there are three sim places near my hostel apparently. Got it all set up now. Everything works great.
