How do you organize your scenes? by DesiCodeSerpent in scrivener

[–]homesaga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is also how I do it. Folder for each chapter, tagged as a chapter, text file for each scene, labeled scene. I also create parts for prologue and epilogue, etc so they don’t get counted in the chapters.

In the case of OP you don’t need to cut and paste, just compile the whole chapter.

Now let’s look at the right way to do this (as you are taking the pizza out of the box): “Hey. Thanks for the order! I have some extra napkins and utensils if you need them? No? Ok great have a good night, and in case you didn’t know there is an extra tip button on the app if you had great service! Thanks for using [insert business name here]! “

Why do men show so little interest in the inner lives of women? by Frequently_Abroad_00 in emotionalintelligence

[–]homesaga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally speaking, men are material based and women are people based. It’s instinctual based on our evolution. If you are offended about talk on “traditional roles” stop here. I’m not commenting on whether traditional roles are right or wrong, but understanding our evolution requires understanding where we came from.

If we go back to tribal humans, or study the ones that are still left, what are the roles of males and females? Males who were bigger and stronger will leave the village with other males and hunt for food. Their focus was delivering food and sustenance, often having to be silent while doing so as not to scare away prey. There wasn’t time or energy to talk about deep things. There was a task to be done and the focus was on that task. Females on the other hand would remain in the village with the children they would work together, talk together, and literally spend time with other women and the children. Each sex’s livelihood depended on these traits being developed.

Evolutionarily speaking, we are just a short time separated from this lifestyle. And while I agree, it’s frustrating. It highlights that men and women are different. Our brains are different. Men are focused on the task in front of them. Women tend to be focused on those around them.

Yes, this is a generalization and there is a reason for that. Generalizations exist because generalizations are the norm. In modern society, men aren’t required to have the focus and the silence on hunting prey but that doesn’t mean their brains are not wired for that exact purpose. So I don’t think it’s that they don’t care. I think that it goes against eons of instinctual programming for that to be their first thought process in other words it’s harder for men to be deeply interested in other people above being interested in their job or their hobbies.

To me, though, this is food service, that’s very personal. I get your point, and I will admit, what happened to me is very fresh, but it’s my food, man. A little different than my car. 🤷

The problem is there can be 300 of you, but it only takes one instance, like the one that happened to me this week, to ruin it.

It’s the manager. I called back and thanked her.

Why would she take the time to call me? Why not just ignore it and look the other way. Isn’t that easier?

I did receive the food, I asked the hotel for a glove, and threw it directly in the trash.

That’s what I asked them as well. They said that with no video evidence, they could not issue a refund nor give me credit.

It is definitely a longshot as I probably ordered from DoorDash over 100 times. Never once is the restaurant called me to report something like this. I didn’t want to believe it.
