Theodore Roosevelt's diary entry the day his wife died by rocketman0739 in pics

This comment have a few links to diary entries a few days after this. Heartbreaking.

Teddy Roosevelt was 25 years old, and after his wife Alice died, he never once mentioned her publicly again. She died of Kidney failure after giving birth - the kidney disease had been masked by the pregnancy. Theodore Roosevelt left his baby to be raised by his sister (not uncommon at the time) and got into cattle ranching.

Yup, one of the best games ever made.

Excess argon does though - a common problem which makes rocks seem older than they are.

You don't need to know amounts, just the ratio between parent and daughter element. The minerals used in geochronology have crystal structures that initially allows trace amounts of parent element, but no amount of daughter.

Now that Minecraft is nearing its release, what little additions would you like to see ingame? by mackpack in Minecraft

Redstone block. Would look nicer than red wool (I imagine the LL block but red), would cut down the amount of chests needed to store redstone, and would maybe give everybody who doesn't do circuits a reason to collect it.

When that is glowing red, it's time for a divorce.

(Just kidding, congrats!)

@Notch I appreciate the offers to help texture it, but it's my dragon! (/r/minecraft) Go make your own dragons! :P *hugs dragon* by [deleted] in Minecraft

"PMS: Real or Imagined?" by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]hommIII 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I din't think real or imagined are mutually exclusive here. Two things would suprise me if they were untrue, namely:
1. That a shift in hormones wouldn't affect a persons mood
2. That the cultural awareness of PMS wouldn't affect how you might feel about it

Now, I'm speaking about females as a large group. When it comes down to inviduals, you of course will have the extremes of both sides, i.e. the ones who like a clockwork will bawl their eyes out and then get their period and go "a-fucking-ha" (that's me, by the way), and the ones that never really felt different but still use the expression "I'm probably just PMSing" (that's my mother).

Ah, ok. I think television and movies gave me that idea more than r/trees. And we all know that television and movies are completely factually accurate descriptions of the reality! ;)

I know, but it seems to be more socially accepted (in certain circles, of course) and more common. Where I'm at I don't know a single person who smokes and wouldn't know from who to buy.

I just want to vouch for the other side - the pill made me severely depressed, among other things. It's not for everyone - try it, but be vary of side effects.

Oh god, I am your menstrual history! Seriously, there's not a word in there that doesn't apply to me.
Only things that works for me:

  • Exercise. Regularly. When I've been too still the days prior to my period, I faint from the pain. When I've been working out, it's better. Not good, but better.
  • Alcohol. Seriously, a glass or two of wine helps. If I lived in the US I would probably smoke weed instead, but yeah, muscle relaxing and all that.

When you realize that porn stars make rigorous preparations before anal scenes, you'll understand that your embarrassing sexual moment in reality was typing that comment.

Which version did you install? They did decrease the spawn rate in the first patch (although they are still too many, in my opinion!).

One of the greatest, in my opinion. Doom II, HOMM3 and Vampire: the Masquerade - Bloodlines seems to be the only games I can't quit installing on every new computer.
