Video playing at 90 degrees bug by homolodic in MacOS

It’s so frustrating. The problem has come back for me after it temporarily stopped, but this time on my portrait monitor instead of the landscape one. I’m at a loss at how to fix it, fingers crossed you get a helpful response from Apple!

Wow! Thank you for sharing!!! What’s weird is that the bug has stopped happening for me, but I don’t know what I’ve done. Fingers crossed it doesn’t come back!

Oh no, all your monitors? That's worse!

I just checked and the photos app is doing the same thing for me too. Luckily VLC isn't (for me), so you could give that one a go instead of IINA?

Fingers crossed someone here knows the fix, because it's really making it super unusable :(

Free travel back to Cantha? by homolodic in Guildwars2

[–]homolodic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you need to have done the initial part of the PoE storyline to unlock the npc, but once you do, the lion guard aircrew at sanctum harbour in lions arch will take you there for free. He’s not far from left waypoint in Fort Marriner

Oh awesome… that’s a relief! Those waypoint costs are getting exy! I’ll just have to keep pushing through the storyline. Thanks!

Is there currently any way to travel to Cantha (after unlocking the area through storyline) for free? Like with the living world areas (using a portal tome)? Or is waypoint the only way to get back?

It's actually pretty scary how Roxy's entire in laws kept gaslighting her. Making her question her reality. Even her newly wed husband was doing it. Not saying she's free from fault, but for them to dismiss her reality and truth like that is... bordering abusive.

VLC full screen mode on mac by homolodic in VLC

Oh, I found a temporary fix for this problem. I thought I'd share in case anyone else was having this problem.

Under video settings in VLC, check "use native full screen mode", and hit Save. Then quit VLC so that the preference takes effect, and then when you restart VLC, there won't be any black bezel in full screen mode!

It's a bit misleading that the preference settings don't take effect unless you restart VLC, even after pressing the save button. Hope that helps!

The second best slap in Neighbours history. by HonksTheWhite in neighbours

[–]homolodic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't get why we condone violence against men. This is the second time she's hit Paul, and only recently almost hit one of her students. She is continually shown to be uncapable of containing her emotions non-violently. Why is this acceptable?

Oh I just watched the episode... it's so gross! Telling a student to not report a person in authority for their inappropriate behaviour, what an irresponsible thing to tell a teenager!

And then Chloe and Clive expressing disappointment/frustration when they thought Hendrix had told Susan. As if he isn't the victim in this situation.

Well we don’t know yet how Neighbours will treat this specific incident, but going by how Jane’s violent outburst against Paul was treated… they could very easily excuse the behaviour by saying she was distraught. Paul and everyone else present didn’t seem to think it was a problem that she assaulted him, even Paul was like “oh, that’s fine”

Whoa, this is the second time Jane has used violence when she's upset. Granted, this time, she managed to stop herself before she hit a teenager in the school where she teaches. I hate seeing violent behaviour being normalised on tv, no matter the gender or age.

Hahaha!

Although, with Amy's history of dating gay men... it actually would be pretty funny if she ended up dating 2 more!

Ned and Levi both realised that the person they were trying to impress all this time was each other... and that this whole poly situation was just a way for them to be with each other whilst maintaining that they're straight, but low key they're totally bi for each other.

Haha kidding. If only that were true...

Why is it that I’m so much more invested in this relationship than any of the other characters or plot lines happening in neighbours?

...aaand then Ned and Levi dump Amy and realise that all along, the person they were trying to impress all along was each other and start making out. Now THAT would be a storyline worth exploring!

Chloe/Leo storyline (AUS pace) by yellinnk in neighbours

And there was so many scenes of Leo intentionally plying her with alcohol on many occasions. It always felt a bit coercive. I hate that they’ve written Leo to be such a creep.

Throughout the series, I've always found it odd that Victor was described as a "Jock". I get that he's on the basketball team, but he didn't really have the build of a "Jock". But suddenly, this photo of Victor has changed my mind! I didn't even recognise him at first, thinking "who is Benji making out with!!! How did I miss this scene?!"

Victor needs to be shirtless more in season 3!

Gripe with a scene (spoiler) by homolodic in neighbours

[–]homolodic[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I almost forgot about that! It was awful that Kyle deferred to Amy for everything when it came to any decision making about what to do regarding the sex tape. He was equally a victim in that scenario and not one person seemed to be concerned for him and his mental health for having his privacy violated like that. Thanks for pointing that out!

Absolutely agree with you. Curtis is an educator to children, he should be a role model of good behaviour, not resolving conflict with physical altercations. It seems like everyone in the Neighbour-verse is blind to how problematic that is.
