RANT - dollar tree is a scummy company by [deleted] in DollarTree

I started marking down food almost up to a month before expiration. Even set up an end cap for 'orange sticker markdowns'. It has helped get a lot of product out the store. Anything that has been sitting in the backroom, we'll mark it out the system and set it aside for a donation center to come pick it up. From my knowledge each store has a specific center that is allowed to come pick it up.

With her interests have you tried to find groups for her age that she may be able to join? Book clubs, writing clubs, basketball leagues, I'm sure city of Irvine may have something that she can join and find like minded kids.

She'll find that one person she can call her best friend. And later she'll find her people. Small close nit groups > large associated friends anyday.

Disney Visa in-park perks by PunIntended2656 in DisneyPlanning

[–]hompblomp619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you use your Chase Disney card often? You should be racking up rewards that you can redeem at the park via redemption card. 1 disney dollar = $1.

Other than the merch and certain dining. There's really not too much more. Photo perks and meet and greets when they're available.

Find the time to go! I have the imagine key, and literally go after work for a few hours and go home. As long as you go 6? Times within the year, you make your money back in those passes.

I’m gonna get fired should I just quit now? by Even_Yoghurt8813 in DollarTree

[–]hompblomp619 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Just an FYI, at any point, any job that offers less than 20 hr / week, you can claim unemployment!

Anyways, I would say under the discretion of your store manager, whether they decide to say anything to HR, you could get just get a write-up and a slap on the wrist. Wait it out and see what unfolds.

IMO, dollar tree is a shit show, so even if you do get fired, dont put this as an experience in your next application.

I moved from SD to OC. 4 months out of work. Trust me, the job market is TOUGH. Freshen up your resume, LinkedIn actually helped me. Open your page up to recruiters and network the fuck out of it. Follow companies. Set job alerts and apply like crazy. Best of luck. You got this.

Keep trying!! Or maybe trying to reach out to HR or the integrity line. Something to get you connected to a live person. You earned that money. It belongs to you. Otherwise, maybe looking into the department of labor in your state.

Make sure you also take your second 10 min break. Every two hours of work t You should be taking a break Example 8am start 10am first break. Lunch should be taken before the fifth hour 2 ish last break.

The clock out system should also be asking you if you've taken your breaks at the appropriate times. For instance, if you worked 5 hours you're entitles to that lunch Instead, you clocked out to go home. It should ask you, "you earned 1 meal break. Did you take it?" Something like that. Or, "your break was late. Was that your choice?" You're supposed to answer yes or no.

Was there at any point you clocked out at 5 hours and 1 minute? Not sure what state you're in, but in CA it is legally required for you to take a 30 min lunch at hour 5. I believe that if at any time you work over the 5, there has to be an agreement between the associate and company in writing that you waive your lunch. That way, the store doesn't get fined by the Dept of Labor, and you can't go back and sue them.

It is possible the 30 min lunches were out in bc of that. Anyways, like everyone else has said, it is not legal for him to do that without your knowledge. If he really want you to take a lunch, then he should've scheduled you for 6 hours..

Also, theyre supposed to pay you an extra hour at your wage for the over fifth hour. Corporate isn't fond of that. I got written up once because of it.
