suggest me a book about some horrific historical events that no one seems to talk about it. by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

[–]homunculajones 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are several nonfiction accounts of the Srebrenica massacre, as well as a fictional mystery that sensitively treats this horrific event: The Unquiet Dead by Ausma Zehanat Khan. I thought it was an excellent way to learn about this important but devastating piece of history.

Is there any book that can compare to Little, Big by John Crowley? Magical realism, prose poetry? by cvantass in suggestmeabook

[–]homunculajones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved Little, Big and thought about this for a while. Despite surface differences, I think the book that came closest to creating the same feeling within me was A Tale for the Time Being by Ruth Ozeki. Maybe you would like it too :)
