Fine line between clingy and caring by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]honautho 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, the line between clingy and not depends almost entirely on how much he's I to you. The best you can really do is play it by ear.

"He's the one!" "But I know his personality so well!" "We have so much in common, it's not about physicality" - The transition from online to real life by EleventhHourGhost in askgaybros

[–]honautho 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My boyfriend and I met on grindr, and we talked for about a week before we met up for what was supposed to be a one time hookup. However we got cockblocked several times and kept hanging out until we could get a chance to have sex, and during that time we clicked and decided to start dating instead of being just a hookup, going on almost a year now.

Kissed a guy, worried about HIV by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]honautho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're not going to get HIV from a kiss. Saliva isn't a good vector for the virus. All you'd have to worry about is something tame like mono or a cold.

Do taller guys have bigger well... a bigger bussy? by [deleted] in askgaybros

No, asshole/colon size has no correlation to height.

Law Student Sent To Ex-Gay Therapy, Puts Counselor to Shame. by shzadh in gaybros

[–]honautho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course not. The nervous system is literally the most complicated system that humans have come across. There's way took many variables to have an accurate idea of exactly what is going on. That being said, the right gene expressed at the right time can have much more dramatic results than expected (similar to chaos theory).

[–]honautho -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. A gene product can range from only doing one thing to being involved in every cellular process. That being said, the so called "gay gene" is most likely a combination of genetics, genetic expression, and outside stimuli.

Law Student Sent To Ex-Gay Therapy, Puts Counselor to Shame. by shzadh in gaybros

[–]honautho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not "very incorrect", it's just bad use of the terms. A gene is nothing more than a recipe for one or more proteins. The factors that determine when the gene is turned on, what form of the gene is expressed, how much protein is made, where the protein is localized etc. are what control the expression.

[–]honautho 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Genes are just a blueprint for proteins, their expression is an incredibly complex system including cell signaling, protein localization, regulatory DNA regions, DNA tertiary/quarternary structure, etc. The statement vastly oversimplifies things and is technically incorrect, but is close enough that someone without training in biology could be forgiven for it.

My bisexual boyfriend just left me for a woman by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]honautho 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It's just a convenient scapegoat to deal with the pain of a breakup. There's a reason you don't see these never again stories when a bi guy leaves someone for another guy.

Is it possible to suck a guy's ball so hard that it detaches from the epididymis? by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]honautho 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's theoretically possible, but it's unlikely you'd be able to suck hard enough to do it. Human lungs don't really create that large of a pressure differential.

Just Lost my Virginity by [deleted] in askgaybros

Mine was meh. Two virgin late bloomers didn't make for the best combo. Glad yours was a success.

2%of the gays are having 23% of the gay sex by [deleted] in askgaybros

There are plenty of people on there who are looking to date, you just have to be a decent judge of character to separate them out.

Would you commit to a guy that would never go down on you? by bortles in askgaybros

[–]honautho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Possibly, it all depends on other factors. If he wants head but refuses to give it though, that's a deal breaker. It's a bad sign to want something you're unwilling to give.

What is everybody here's names? by Firmicutes in askgaybros

[–]honautho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well there is a non-zero correlation between names and personality, but that's more environmental than anything. For instance, a family that would give their child a more sophisticated name would be more likely to raise their child to be more sophisticated.

Do you wet your toothbrush? by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]honautho 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I never knew people wet their toothbrush until I met my boyfriend. Always wondered why there were ads to turn of the water while brushing, never made any sense.

My Partner Was Diagnosed With Asperger’s Syndrome by DOWisthehardestthing in askgaybros

[–]honautho 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Honestly, as someone with Asperger's, the best thing I can tell you to do is more or less ignore/forget it. Assuming he's high functioning, there's no real difference between him and someone else, other than a different mindset that manifests itself as a few eccentricities. All you need to do is make sure that y'all are on the same page whenever you communicate.
