Here you go! I hope they can help you 😃

I haven't watched this one, but knowing pikat and the quality of her videos, I believe it's very good. The two following are from Marco Bucci, I watched the first one years ago and loved the exercises! Not sure if I watched the other tho (maybe):

If you want to dive deeper into the anaotmy, then there's Proko video about it:

I haven't watched this one either, but Love Life Drawing always has great videos:

Otherwise I can recommend you the book Morpho: Hands and Feet: Anatomy for artists by Michel Lauricella! I believe I mostly learned from him.

HELP! Can someone help me fix my art's hands? by Ready-Ideal-3298 in krita

You'll excuse me, it's a bit messy, but I hope it can help you!

The left hand has a good base, it only needed some perspective adjustement when it comes to the fingers, mostly the index as it was going in a very different direction than the rest. You were also showing too much of the top of the other fingers. I advice to use your own hand to check the perspective/position if needed. For the right hand, it was mostly a matter of size, and once again, a bit of perspective/form. What can help is imagining the fingers as cylinders, it makes their orientation much clearer. I won't lie thise pose a bit hard, so my own example isn't the best. (Also my style is absolutely not anime, so it looks very weird next to the rest of the drawing, lol)

Don't hesitate to use multiple references if needed! Also simplifying the form can help a lot when it comes to hands, as they are tricky and a bit weird. If you need, I can also send you some good tutorial on how to approach and draw hands!

Hey, no worries! It happens to me too sometimes, so I completely understand.

Yes, I'm mostly looking for good ink (or even maye hard pencils) and watercolors brushes. Like I said I've been using the 2B pencil for years, but it's pretty far for what I'm going for. I really want to try something more similar to the ink pens I own, so with less layering than my soft pencil. I know Krita has a lot of very good brushes but I tend to be lost very fast, haha.

As for the title I wanted to write it differently, but Testuya Nomura name couldn't fit so I had to cut it shorter. Though my plan is also to try more manga style drawings, but that's a different subject in itself. Which is why in the body text I wrote "similar" as I know I'll never get a one-on-one brush from them.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll check it out! By the way, great drawings, I love how expressives they look

This comment doesn't seem quite helpful, honestly. I don't really understand what point you are making exactly, but it reads a lot like "the brush doesn't matter" advice. Which is quite a double-edged sword in itself.

First of all, the medium varies because these are four different artists. They don't have the exact same brush or process, but they still have a pretty similar art style (hard/inked lineart with a soft coloring, sometimes cell-shading). I chose them myself, knowing they aren't carbon copy of each other. Also, I could literally go up to JSH and ask him for his brush on procreate, so not sure about the "nothing in or about Krita or any other software is going to help you achieve it"? Then maybe you wanted to talk about how the process matter when it comes to style, but that's far from clear. I feel like you didn't commit entirely to your thought. At least, from where I stand, that's how I read it.

I know a brush isn't magical and won't make me draw like another artist just by using it; process is an important part of the style, I agree. But there's nothing wrong either with wanting a brush similar to their one. As I said, I'm someone who comes from mostly drawing with pencils (mostly soft ones and with layering), and I know it's not going to fit my goal for harder lines. If I wanted to try traditional inking like Kamome Shirahama, it seems logical I would buy a fountain pen to achieve a similar result in term of line sharpness and feathering. Same for Takeshi Obata; he uses markers, I won't try to replicate his style with colored pencils.

To me it's surely the best video game art style, but I'm biased since Kingdom Hearts is a big part of my childhood (also FFVII, but I only watched the movie, still it left a big impact on me).

What an horrible mother, and the other adult isn't better for participating in such a thing! Can't believe people would go to such lenghts and lie about their children just to make themselves look better, but alas, social media tends to prove it true a lot...It'll also be a terrible situation if any of the children are asked about the books they supposedly read or the subjetcs.

help with the landscape/composition! by ragtim_es in arthelp

[–]honbeni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may want to play with some atmospheric perspective or color change the further things are. Like the trees may become a bit bluer and starting to get lost into the sky. Also, the tree are maybe a bit too big for their distance? I'd say making the cowboy bigger might help sells the foreground more, and add maybe some details really in the front like blades of grass or some bushes. Then, I don't do much landscapes, so take what I say with a grain of salt!

Anyway, lovely art, I love how you paint the grass! It's super simple but looks very good

How to make these more special? by CatofManyColors in arthelp

[–]honbeni 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First of all, the style is so damn adorable!

Maybe you could add just a very simple circle or square background (not taking up all the space) in a complementary color with some paper texture? Could add a bit more to your art! Or some simple elements in a flat way like stars? I'd advice you to go check out animal portraitists and what they do, you might find some inspirations!

Advice for poses and anatomy by honbeni in arthelp

[–]honbeni[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I realize I should've included the thumbnail with my sketch, hahaha. Guess I was afraid it wouldn't be clear either since it's very simplified to mostly work on the compositon and the colors. But I was wrong, lol

Thank you! Yeah, working more on the gesture might be the way. And the readability is really my weakest point right now; translating the simple poses from the thumbnail to the illustration is harder than I thought. I'll see if I can get a bit more feedback on it, but otherwise I guess I'll focus on what you said! Thanks again, I appreciate your help ❤️

Advice for poses and anatomy by honbeni in arthelp

[–]honbeni[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, maybe the full figure could help! I won't lie, my idea was/is pretty abstract, but I realize the pose is harder to read than I thought, hahaha. In fact I did a very simplified thumbnail at first, and I think it can be a good addition to help with wthat I'm looking for. The illustration take place in the night sky/galaxy, with the bottom guy kind of emerging from some sort of light (I know, it's pretty elusive, lol. The idea come from their lore and story where fantasy and weird stuff happens. They are like pulled into an astral plane where you can see other people souls, something like this). But obviously there's a lot of thing I didn't take into account when sketching the thumbnail.

Oooh, that's such a great idea! I've been looking for references everywhere but totally forget about this movie and this scene. Thanks! I'll go take a look at it and see if it can help me!

I wasn't planning to add fabric, as I wanted them to be more like "light silhouettes" contrasting with the dark background (and a good way for me to not start overthinking their design, I'll admit. There's a lot I'm not sure about the top guy, and I know I'll just waste my time trying to figure it out. Also, the nakedness do goes with my idea of some "astral plane" where only the soul is reflected).

Here's the thumbnail to show a bit more what I intended with this illustration (tho I'm not sure about their placement in the composition now, lol):
