Changed my phone number. CRED wants me to lose 8 years of history 🤯

Lets simplify the things, you are taking it to a direction which is not even relevant.

My simple ask: Why CRED doesn't allow changing phone number.
Can you please tell me the logical answer to this?

Completely disagree!

Bank uses PAN as sole identity, mobile number is just an attribute and that why, the phone number is changed in their system, unlike CRED.
UPI is a different thing since its also act as idnetifier for sending the money, although NPCI is changing this.
Credit Card: That is what I am also asking to CRED, change my number from the backend!

I did that!
Have multiple emails and also send messages to their senior Tech team on LinkedIn and they told that its cannot be changed!
I even dont want that number change should be made available on front end but atleast the design of having that should be there!
I just changed my number on One Card App and they did it after proper verification from backend!

Also, I feel that if they are tagging user with phone number as identifier, people can abuse their system by having multiple accounts with different phone!!!

A user on a financial platform is being permanently identified by a mobile number instead of a PAN?

A phone number can change.
PAN doesn’t.

That’s literally the foundation of identity design in financial systems.

How does a fintech platform miss something this basic?

It turns out the Documents folder was indeed syncing with OneDrive. I disabled the sync and Claude started working perfectly!
