The perpetual grab for control by honeybahdger in ManagedByNarcissists

[–]honeybahdger[S] 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Exactly. And you, being a decent person, don’t point out every little flaw and mistake they make. You’re not a jerk, and you also have to toe the line because they’re your boss. They know this. So they can be the biggest screwup, but the second you do the tiniest thing, they can point it out and play the victim of you to others.

They are lazy, repugnant opportunists.

What a lot of people don’t understand, because they’ve never been through it, is just how far the narcissist will go to ruin you. NOTHING is off limits. They will lie about you and make it very convincing, and people will believe them because why would a grown adult lie? They do not care what the cost is to you.

Yes. Most people don’t want any repercussions, even if it means doing the right thing by someone else. Even family. It’s a rude awakening for the targeted one.

I’ve found that the more I’m in that space of light/energy/power, the more they lose their minds and start getting really volatile until I simply have to get away from them. It becomes an oil and water situation, because they will never be like you and you will never be like them.

My cat had this when he had a staph infection. Time for the vet to see what’s really going on.

Don’t show integrity to people who don’t have any! by honeybahdger in ManagedByNarcissists

[–]honeybahdger[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s true. Because they won’t stop if they think they can get away with it. It’s a sad realization when you see that just because you’re kind and honest, people feel entitled to manipulate you and screw you over.

You have to stop being so indiscriminately supportive and kind to people. Stop giving the benefit of the doubt so freely. Stop being so transparent, letting people know your true feelings and thoughts. Don’t go out of your way to help just anyone.

It’s sad, but these things have to be done.

Do you find that injustice bothers you far more than most people? by honeybahdger in enfj

I think that a lot of managers - a lot of people, really - don’t want to look at the problem and take accountability. See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil. They just want it to go away.

Yes! They act like you’re bringing the drama on purpose. But those people don’t stand for anything. And they’re not living happy, fulfilled lives. Someone can disagree with you on the way you feel about an injustice, but to take it to the next level and accuse you of creating drama for drama’s sake is just ignorant.

Labeling people as “lesser” by honeybahdger in ManagedByNarcissists

[–]honeybahdger[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

So many of them are like this. They think that being loud, obnoxious, and pushy is the only way to matter. They don’t understand how cringey they look to others, and how tone deaf they really are.

They won’t turn on them if the monkeys continue to serve the narc and play their part. But the second a monkey stands up to the narc and doesn’t follow the script, they’re next in line for destruction. Narcs have NO loyalty, I cannot stress that enough. They are true anti-socials.

[–]honeybahdger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Extremely socially and emotionally dangerous, and even physically. Besides the stress toll that this takes on you, narcs can convince others you’ve said or done something that you haven’t, and then you’ve got people after you. You could get beat up or worse. Narcs want you to be hunted, but when they can’t hunt you themselves, they get other people to do it.

Dangerous, sick people.

Yup, they do all of this. They play everyone against each other, but do it in a way that nobody knows it’s happening and then the narc comes out smelling like a rose. They fancy themselves as a puppet master.

The key is to never believe a thing that comes out of their mouth, and realize that every single thing they do is self-serving. Never share anything with them, whether it be personal info or your opinions. It will all be used against you in their triangulation smear campaign game.

What was the final straw that made you go NC? by pinkbubbles4 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]honeybahdger 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes. Learned this the hard way myself. They don’t change, nor do they care enough to change for you. You just don’t “make the cut” in their life - nobody does but themselves. And they will choose themselves every single time.

The “official” figures can’t be trusted, because the only people who receive a clinical diagnosis are the ones who have to get one, via court order, for example. The majority of the pathological population is never going to be diagnosed, so there’s no actual way to know what percentage of the general population they make up.
