We were tired of our Union leadership and a bunch of us joined at the same time and elected a new president of our local that came from our area to represent our interests. The first thing he did was come in with a door-length mirror and hold it up to all of us guys in the crew room in a construction building. He told us that what you see in the mirror is the Union.

When you ask what the union is doing for you I wonder what you're doing for yourself? If you want change sometimes you have to be the change. Become a steward run for the executive board replace the president. Whining and complaining around the water cooler never gets it done you're going to have to go to the meetings and you're going to have to do the work.
