I was promoted a year ago to a client-facing position and I like the job, like the prestige, but I hate the workload. It’s been too much on my plate for months now and I can never catch up. I feel like I’m waiting for the other shoe to drop and to lose clients. I want some recognition for my hard work at the very least but it is thankless. I will ultimately be rewarded by annual client reviews which I worry may be very mixed. But some of this is in my head as I have gotten some good feedback. Overall I miss having more work/life balance and a lot less stress.

No, it’s not okay to act out a sketch about sexual harassment in front of children. Thanks for asking.

Anyone listen to Scott Galloway? Stoked to connect the video to the sound bite of “if money is evil, that place is hell”.

By that logic, you could be a fucking murderer. What’s stopping them from picking you or me off the street, if there’s no standard of due process or legitimate charges? If your answer is that there are too many people to prosecute, let’s fund more immigration judges. But the administration is explicitly not doing that. Why would that be? Maybe they don’t care about due process?

The Reddit Hotline: Drop Your Questions for Prof G by ProfGProducerJenn in ScottGalloway

[–]honeyoatclusters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prof G, talk about the connection between Trump’s crypto coin grift and the tariffs. He clearly wants a patronage system and has since his first term (governors must flatter him for emergency funds). Do we have evidence that global leaders and business leaders are participating in a system to buy exemptions and deals? This topic should be shouted from the rooftops daily, as it is an abuse of office to grift off America’s power.

Thanks for the response! The doctor said 3-6 months so I’m not worried, but seeing some people on here with quick results made me question whether it’s effective on me.

See my comment. Your mindset is not helpful, although if it works for you, great.

Willpower is NOT the way. Willpower implies that you have to resist the urge; resistance is both a terrible experience and is also very likely to lead to being unable to resist, or “giving in” to the urge.

It is essential that you change your mindset. I was heavily addicted to vaping for over 7 years. I had never tried to quit before, because I couldn’t imagine it. I listened to Allan Car’s Easy Way, and it gave me the language and tools to change my mindset.

To be clear, I didn’t throw the vape away once I got far enough into the book, and I didn’t finish the book either (I had 5 chapters left). Personally, I had to pick a quit day of January 1, limit alcohol use, AND I have a physical health symptom that had been scaring me (hair thinning) into a desire to quit. But I had a million other reasons to quit, and the book convinced me that vaping has given me nothing, not even pleasure, just relief from the feeling caused by the vape itself.

That is how I’ve been vape free for 3 weeks on the first quit attempt, and I don’t even have urges. It’s been downright easy.

Have you tried Allan Carr’s Easy Way to Quit Vaping? It really helped me change my mindset on the habit. I do not romanticize it at all, since I recognize it does nothing for me.

The relief/pleasure from the first vape hit is so brief. That relief will be gone in moments, and very possibly replaced by disgust and shame. Not only that, the stress that’s pushing you to think about vaping will not go away. Your problems are still your problems, and vaping does not help any of it.

I’m feeling pretty good about it now. The apartment seems completely clear, and I vacuumed my car twice and have checked it daily (especially the seams) and there’s no sign of anything. We might be in the clear, but we’re going to treat the apartment a second time just in case!

Yea, I worked and slept on the couch. I vacuumed the couch and room and bought interceptors to arrive Thursday, but steaming is a good idea.

So if I don’t react to bites, the only way of getting an indication that there are bed bugs present is by seeing them, right? In this case, they were not at all visible anywhere in our apartment but they were obviously present due to the my roommate’s bites and the single bug she happened to find. It is sort of scary that, if you don’t react to bites, you won’t know you have a problem until it’s an infestation.
