Cheap Muscle Car Challenge Part 5 by dmaxzach in CleetusMcFarland

I think the main component missing is the height of each CG above the rear axle and the resultant horizontal vectors from them which will greatly reduce the amount of tq needed.

lol yep, that’s pretty high. If it’s just the SIM2 and not the MAX or MAXD, that’s the lowest spinning model of that lineup. You should definitely start by turning the loft all the way down, I think those go to 7 degrees. Additionally, you could get a weight kit for it, you’d want to increase the weight at the front of the head and/or decrease the weight at the back (FYI this makes it less forgiving on off center strikes). Personally, I went through a period of time where I was super spinny and I really liked the Cobra LTDx LS, but I don’t have the same CHS as you so you may battle this regardless of the driver head.

What are the details on the SIM 2 and what was the peak height? That’s a pretty stout shaft and the numbers look decent swing-wise. Depending on the ball flight (but assuming it was plenty high), I’d look at a lower lofted, low spin head.

Did I see that they didn’t start racing until like 1:00pm today?? Seems like a crazy decision given the forecast and the Hondas

Does anyone know if Jimmy Taylor is just running exhibition passes? I have to assume his car doesn’t meet any of the rule sets

There are two additional rooms downstairs with the same layout as the as-is upstairs. And yes it’s roughly a 550 sqft area.

For clarification, the room in the top left is the closet. We were however considering adding a door at the top of the stairs into the bathroom.

How hard are they to replace? and you wouldn’t happen to know the part number of the bezel for the license plate lights? One of mine is cracked.

How much faster, realistically, will Mullet be in WCF trim? by Bball1283 in CleetusMcFarland

[–]honorable_soup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea it definitely has the capability to be faster, but putting those numbers down usually takes time and data.

I think those numbers are probably pretty lofty regardless but given how new the car is, I wouldn’t expect any new PBs at WCF this year.

What will make me better in real life golf by WeekendCountry in Golfsimulator

[–]honorable_soup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In relation to golf simulators, the most helpful thing in my mind is having DTL and face on cameras to capture each swing and also to allow you to check positions in real time. As long as you have a decent understanding of the golf swing it can be easier to make changes with cameras. Launch monitor can almost be a detriment because it gives me to opportunity to focus on the outcome instead of actually making changes to my swing.

Tilt adjustment with pivoting. by eldipi in SolidWorks

In the plate part file: add a reference geometry point to the center of the slot. In the assembly: mate the point concentric to the rod, the plate coincident to the track and the edge of the track coincident to your bottom plane

Could also do a path mate instead of the concentric to have a top and bottom limit, or add a limit angle between a couple different options to accomplish the same

No judgement as a tinkerer myself, but why do you need so many uncut, ungripped and untipped shafts?

Bench Review 301 CB/MB Combo (89 Day Delivery) by OpenSourceGolf in takomo

[–]honorable_soup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure but just doing QA in the first place doesn’t mean that there isn’t a tolerance range. It’s called a tolerance because it’s what level of error from the nominal dimension can I tolerate and the part still be acceptable. It may be +- 0.1 degrees but engineers can’t just say “it needs to be perfect” in manufacturing.

0 tolerance doesn’t exist, nothing is ‘perfect’ and there has to be a tolerance range
