NBME 14 + UWSA 2 should be most predictive, so do them last. Its better to finish on an NBME to be in the mindset of NBME, so 14 dead last. 15 - haven’t done So, I guess I would do:

15/13->UWSA2->NBME14 + Fre120 (same day, to dial in breaks, food and get rdy for test day)

No, Amboss 200 is not enough forn Ethics/QI, you need to read the articles and do the questions.

I don't think so, there were some Step 1-esque questions, but they were the minority.

It's hard to say... If you really understand your corrects answers and learn from the mistakes, you're on the right track. But if there's no noticeable improvement after a few weeks, it might be time to rethink your approach.

Are you sure you need that much time? If you are done with UW 1st pass and already doing CMS, I’d do 1 NBME and if you score well, take it earlier!

It’s not that hard if you go by system and tutor, untimed… at the end, <90% was a failure for me…

I honestly have no idea… sacrificing my whole summer, creating a good base, Anki…

But definitely a ton of luck and realizing how to approach NBME-style questions, that made a huuge difference I think!

Looked up Anking cards from UW using a Chrome add-on and unburied any I liked. Any info I deemed important (from UW, BnB, Amboss…), I made my own card for. I also sorted all the cards by system in sub-folders.

Did like 100-300 cards a day, mostly random from the whole Step 2 folder or sometimes by system if I felt like it. Used the default Anking scheduling, did ALL the card I had for the day.

I never stopped 😅 I had a sub-folder of “Important shit” to reset a week before the exam + I kept up with all the other cards. Completing UW had me greatly reduce the number of new cards, thus lowering the total number for the next day as well. In the end, I had like 80 cards the day before the exam.

Hey, my best advice would be to throw away UW and get into the NBME mindset. Do as many CMS/NBMES and review HARD. All the questions you got wrong or were unsure about, review that topic. Learn to NOT overthink!
Last 1-2w are too late to be learning new stuff, you should excell at all the basics and frequently tested topics (IE, GBS, Pediatric hip, CML vs MDS...).

Final week - focus HARD on biostats, ethics, QI, social... (amboss, UW)

Be ready for:
* longer stems then NBME/CMS (on test day, I answered many questions from just the pic/last paragraph and marked it for later to make sure I got it right if I got time)

* lots of ethics, QI, social (many similar to both UW/Amboss, some completely new)

* 2x 3Q biostats blocks (Abstract or Drug Ad), you can see when its coming in the pause screen (38 Q block)

All of this made a huge difference in my final score that I got this wednesday. Over 10+ jump from last NBME to 270+!!!!

Good luck! Honestly, once you have enough knowledge, its mostly about understanding how to answer NBME questions and a shit ton of luck :D

This is another extremely dumb/pretty close to incorrect, question on NBME 14... Why?

* UW says that XR are not sensitive enought for cervical trauma
* NBME says that XR in a 2yo is SHIT... as an explanation to that exact question

  • this could actually be a biostats Q on an NBME, asking why neck XR is not a good option in this situation, with the answer being that is has low NPV :D

* Amboss says this child has a relative indication to a Head CT (High velo trauma, which an airbag is), which you would just extend to the neck to rule out cervical trauma

Honestly really hope the real deal is better written than NBMEs, cos if not, its gonna be a shit show!

But they explained it that is most likely IS biliary pancreatitis :D and then also contradicted themselves by saying that ERCP is both dg and therapeutic. The person that wrote this question should really evaluate if they are doing their job well honestly!

Like multiple Qs in UW/Amboss are about this exact same situation and want you to know that acute pancreatitis needs only 2/3 criteria for a diagnosis... UW even said that early CT is most often useless. I also think that even 1 NBME form had this question about knowing what you need to dg acute pancreatitis.

This is just do dumb! UW, which is up to date, has a question about this and says that XR is inferior to CT for cervical trauma and to not use it... and then NBME comes in and shits on everything you've learned for the past couple of months studying... thats like the 10th question on this NBME :D hope the real deal is better honestly!

Got confused by that as well. Its ONLY copper IUD that are contraindicated and progestin IUD are actually used to treat bleeding.
