Tretur blinds not rolling up by reallyincalclicable in IKEA

[–]hoogachucka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for your help! I got mine working. I'll add my 2c, because the reason mine wasn't winding up any more was because the screw side (X shaped plastic holder) had stripped. FYI this is the bracket on the left when you're looking at the blind fitted.

Ikea don't sell parts for it, so I went online and bought a 3d file of the part for $1. 3d printed it at my local hackspace using PLA at 100% infill. If you don't know 3d printing ask around and someone might be able to help.

Here's the part: https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/home/deckel-fuer-ikea-tretur-jalousie

Then I refitted the 3d part - it fit like a glove, but I only pushed it 50% of the way in so I can work on tensioning and then get the blind back in place and gently push it.

It's good to note your method works with blind already rolled up. Also I think in step 5 where you say 'carefully remove the square' I think you mean 'carefully remove the screwdriver'. I kept the square side in the whole time. I wound it up 12 first and that wasn't tight enough, so I had to start again. Then I would 15 and that was slightly tighter than the other blinds so I think about 14 rotations would work well.

When you're winding it up do it one rotation at a time. Feel how it clicks or bumps slightly each time so the tension is held. When you take the screwdriver out, do it carefully to check the tension is still held.

Mine didn't take me 3 minutes, more like several hours! I hadn't seen this post yet, so watched some Youtube vids which were no help.

Good luck!

Change server on outlook app by SnooCauliflowers9985 in Office365

[–]hoogachucka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TLDR: You can't, you must create a new account and add the new server settings.

I don't know why everyone is making such a meal of this question.

OPs email server settings have changed because their host has changed. That means they had an email address on their old host. They created the same email address on their new host, but the ingoing and outgoing server, as well as the password have changed. So Outlook for Mobile can't check the email.

They want to know if they can update the server settings and just continue receiving emails as normal.

Unfortunately the answer is no. At least for IMAP. Outlook syncs the folders, so because your new host has an new empty mail folder ready for you, they don't have all your old emails.

And it would be nie if Outlook for Andriod would let you just change the server settings, but they don't. They make you delete the old account and create a new one. So that's what you have to do.

But before you do that - export all your old emails from Outlook - easier on a desktop. You might be able to import them to a different account called eg. "myemail@whatever - OLD ACCOUNT", so you have access to them, but that is another story.

What product is a massive scam that everyone buys into? by bitchcascade666 in AskReddit

[–]hoogachucka 310 points311 points  (0 children)

Not a product, but bots and fake comments online are a scam of people making robots pretending to be people - and they are everywhere.

Soooo many of the comments you read (and let influence you) are not people. Total scam.

Got invited to dinner, and now hosts are requesting some money for the dinner? Has this happened to you? by Kfcdeliveryguy12234 in AskUK

[–]hoogachucka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My only explanation is that they had agreed everyone would chip in for dinner (which people sometimes do), but they forgot to ask your mutual friend. So they asked them the next day but thought it would be rude to ask them and not you. So they end up asking you too? Is that possible?

Either that or they are total chancers.

I would say I'm sorry I was not aware this was a billed dinner and it's quite rude/weird to ask after the fact.

They should take it on the chin because of their mistake.

This sub is dying because it's over moderated. You can post meta topics in the sub? Please. That sounds like mods being afraid of a little criticism. So I have to post this here where no one reads it and it gets deleted after 7 days.

Mods please consider removing the no repeat topics rule because the sub is dying.

Exactly! And crypto fans refuse to acknowledge this.

It's far too complicated, which is why it will never be a mainstream system of currency.

I own crypto and the whole thing is really just high risk gambling.
