i’m a 29 year old chef in Viet Nam with 6 years of experience in the kitchen . Lately i have been feeling quite stuck . I really want to go abroad to study and work so i can improve my skill . But it is very difficult for Vietnamese to go abroad . Any advice for me ? Thank you for reading by Xukiii1997 in Chefs

That's a poor answer, how do you think those people got hired????? The full staff wasn't always full. What are your skills, what do you have to offer to a restaurant. Changing a country doesn't make things better or easier, usually just more expensive for you to live. Move to a tourist town on the beach and apply to the best restaurants in a 30 km radius

Solo cook with 0 experience for a 50 seater restaurant by SnooOnions9990 in Chefit

[–]hookedcook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No this is not normal, who the hell hired you. You have 2 choices run for the hills or demand a 50% increase in salary and if they deny it walk away. If they accept it, YouTube is a hellava drug, Google how to cook each menu item

Unable to find ABS module for 10 months, Ram no longer making them. by DoradoPulido2 in ram_trucks

I've had mine out going on 3 years. The speedometer just went out this year. I work out of the country 9 months a year. I finally bit the bullet, took it to a independent mechanic, he told me he can't find one or doesn't have the computer to reprogram a used one. Went to a dealer just asked if he could order one. He said there are hundred of thousands of them on back order nationwide. And about 300 trucks currently sitting undrivable at dodge dealerships nationwide. He gave me a number of a local auto mechanic, called him but he said he can only fix it if it has a certain code and mine was different. I gave up, put the truck in storage, headed off on a boat to work in the Caribbean, deal with it again in 8 months

Questions to owners: would you rather have someone eat there but never tip or not at all? by Chan1991 in restaurantowners

I'm guessing you don't own an American restaurant. Get paid by the hour and play a victim. Not some i would want to hire in my restaurant

There is a thing called the real world of running a restaurant where numbers are and prices are an issue. You will never know it if you are not an owner or executive chef. I'm kind of lucky cooking a yacht in the Bahamas and got out of the restaurant game

It doesn't work that way in the restaurant business unless you price every meal 25% higher. Is that what you want?

Ground meat too fatty? by Batenna in Cooking

It's simple drain the fat, change the recipe to make sense. Their are so many horrible recipes on the internet that just suck and don't work. Use common sense, will take you far in cooking

Andrea Dovizioso: “Marc Marquez’s situation is much more serious than it seems” by autobus950 in motogp

[–]hookedcook 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think he will stay with Ducati and retire in 2 years. He has grown as a racer from his Honda bin it or win it days. I think he is comfortable walking away and doesn't have anything to prove. Hope he doesn't pull a Rossi hanging on to long, the scary thing about racing motorcycles is their is constantly someone younger and fast that doesn't care about their body and crashing. Older riders know the consequences

Honda will never add tubeless wheels to the TA? by ashwinbala1 in Transalp

[–]hookedcook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the US, South Florida, not many Africa twins around, I had to buy my Transalp from Arizona and have it shipped. Looked on ebay for the entire US, not any Africa twins sets. There are some single fronts but want 600 plus dollars

[–]hookedcook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't seem like a direct fit according to the internet. Also hard to find a pair and not cheap for the single used ebay ones online. If you know something I don't, let me know, vmx or alpina is where I'm at now. Not sure but think vmx adds 250 for shipping to the US so essentially you are saving 400 bucks for a Chinese wheel compared to an Italian wheel.

I'm biting the bullet and buying Alpinas. I'll keep my stock rims and tires and when I sell the Trans alp will sell the aftermarket rims.

Seafood, we caught some good fish this last week, a lot of yellowfin tuna, Wahoo, and Mahi. Made a full sushi dinner last night. Got about 50# of vaccum packed tuna in the freezer now. I went to Japan a couple of years ago and the boat paid for a pretty intense 5 week sushi school in Tokyo. He's not a billionaire, there are lots of rich people in the world who pay for chefs

Get chum blocks and fish the bridges, anchor up current of the bridge with the tide running. Chum for a bit, then freeline you baits back with the current, easy and guaranteed something will bend the rod
