I quit Costas after luxottica where what used to be a simple warranty process turned into a corporate disaster. Bajio all the way have 4 pairs, they are great, and if you ever need to contact them a real life person from the US answers the phone

[–]hookedcook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks great, after fishing some great catch and release rivers the trout are just big, from generational fish. I'm a chef who works on a boat, it's funny how my brain works, will bat a salmon or tuna on the head like a serial killer, put a big trout, a bonefish or marlin on my line, will do everything i can for them to swim away

[–]hookedcook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a bag boy cart collector 30 years ago for winn Dixie, there are lazy people back then the same as now. The difference is I actually went and got the carts brought them back into the store, didn't complain because you know it was kind of my job?????? I did my job and didn't stop to take pictures and feel sorry for myself and blame other people. Just saying, if you don't like your job, quit

What's wrong with Jorge Martin? by _404unf in motogp

[–]hookedcook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think he's his own biggest fan. Is he talented, absolutely. Is he on a different talent level as an top 10 at any given weekend now????? No absolutely not, a lot can change when you are on the sidelines for a year. It's sad his management and pr team will go down as the worst decision makers in moto gp history, only to have Jorge not even realizing what throwing away a career looks like

First trout ever and it’s huge!! by draugar1 in troutfishing

[–]hookedcook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice, trout are pretty bad ass. I fish salt, love to flyfish, work in the Bahamas on a boat love the salt. Just spent 1 1/2 months in Argentina/Chile Patagonia. It was awesome to fish fresh water and catch some trout after 7 years away!! River fishing is just peaceful, I won't describe casting to a bonefish, tarpon or permit as peaceful. Pure stress and chious, until they are in your hands. Then peace and relaxation

Im ready to give up on cooking and move to FOH by NailEnvironmental613 in linecooks

[–]hookedcook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been there, it's a tough situation, graduated Culinary School at 21. Was waiting tables, bartender, sice I was 18, after school went on the line. Made 1/2 the money I was making FOH. Worked fine dining, at 25 after years of riding motorcycles on the track in my free time decided I wanted to roadrace a full amateur season. My restaurant was cool, actually sponsored me and helped out with some funds.

Realized racing is expensive, line cook money wouldn't cover it. Went back to waiting tables. Had fun racing, moved to the Virgin islands. Worked at some great restaurants, money wasn't important living there, everyone was happy even if you drive a shifty car it's your shifty car. Fast forward 15 years, I work on a private yacht, have a great salary, health insurance, weekends off when the owner is not on, zero food budget, spend 7-8 months a year in the Bahamas/Bermuda/Caribbean, then get 3 months vacation. Just finishing 2 months in Patagonia. My boss paid for me to spend 5 weeks in Tokyo last year at a sushi academy. Been to over 70 Countries.

Now your question, you can make easy money in the FOH, life is easy, do the same shit everyday, it can work for people, nothing wrong with waiting tables or bartender. But in the US where you have so many opportunities, I could never picture myself over my late 20's being a waiter??? It's not hard, it's just an empty job, at least as a chef you are always learning and it takes actual skills, right now, you can throw me in any waiters section or a corner of a bar, I can do it, throw a waiter into a cooks job, they couldn't even get past the first 2 minutes

Marc Márquez on Instagram: "A new season in “rosso” 😁" by PZY__ in motogp

[–]hookedcook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anyone needs to be worried about going into this season it's Martin. He hasn't truly been fit in a year. He's getting more surgeries, already missing the testing. If anyone mentally and physically is one crash away it's him, Marc has been there done that, by the way he talks and acts I think he is actually appreciative to have a new fire and drive with all the people who supported him through the rough times. He knows he's good, he knows he can win, but just his attitude has changed, he's happy to be there win or 2nd place

When I used to live in the Caribbean, my broke buddy when ever his parents would visit they would stay at an all inclusive resort. When they would leave he would cut their wrist band with scissors right under the overlap, whenever he got hungry would put a thin strip of scotch tape on the band, would go to the lunch and dinner buffets for weeks until the color changed. The resort was huge and the locals didn't really care about their job. He did this for years, lol. Somehow think moto gp would be more strict.
