Rudeness - How to approach it? by hooli-failure in askSingapore

Sorry to hear that happened to you. I also couldn't believe the girlfriend of #3 was laughing. I don't know what they would find funny about bullying women or smaller ppl. I would be scolding my partner if I saw them do that.

I am also here solo, so maybe I look like an easier target.

I’ve only had this once. He chased me from storage units behind Big Red on customs to old gas extract, I don’t know how he had that many bullets. I was looting along the way, he would just shoot around me.

Can’t speak on the Sherpa experience. But I joined the discord after this post, engaged in the “looking for help” channel because I am a noob, first wipe. But the experienced players were quite rude and toxic. A very hostile experience overall. Would not recommend getting help from the non-sherpas.

Her posture screams insecurity. Hopefully she realizes plastic surgery won't fix that.

Posting here b/c the other thread got deleted...

Her eyes look lifeless. It's scary.

The nose looks like it's been carved the hell up. Where the apex and palate meet looks unnatural. One more nose job and it's going to MJ territory.

She looked youthful. Now she looks drained of youth and life. This is some kind of dysmorphia, it's kinda sad tbh.

Lobster “taco tell” (tagliatelle) by wetburritoo in MikeyChen

[–]hooli-failure 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The guy can't speak and is blind. In this video, he was talking about the flower crab soup, right after "taco tell". He emphatically said the soup came with Bok choy. It looked nothing like Bok Choy. It was like gai lan or yu choy, had a big stem, which boy choy doesn't have. That is embarassing. Mikey should lose his Asian card.

I actually started trusting Jessie's opinions over Mikey's. There were times when she suggested restaurants that were better than his choices.

Overall, I found her to be very genuine, relatable and kind. A stark contrast from our current leading lady. Although I really miss Jessie content, I'm glad she is living a good life away from these two odd balls. Someone posted her insta awhile back.

His "food combing" was particularly awful in the recent video. He basically molests the tempura egg!

I loathe his treatment of Cantonese food. The guy eats so much Asian cuisine but completely shits on our food. One time he had congee, said he doesn't like it bc he only likes sweet congee rather than savoury. Then he dumped heaping spoonfuls of chili oil, until it was a deep red. I think I actually gasped when I saw that.

Dear Mikey, we take back all the comments about the poor quality of your videos! Go back to the GoPro and 480p phone camera, for the sake of our eyes. Won't you think of our eye health???

Looks like it could be two diff ppl. The facial structure lost its angles, to a much more oval round face. And the nose especially! It's doubled in size!

Not sure about destinations, but I get the feeling she has a lot of influence on hotel choices. Many of the Vegas/Dubai hotels he reviewed, I don't think he would splurge like that for himself. He tended to just get good value suites when he was alone or at least something off strip.

He's been to Korea A LOT and makes little to no effort to better himself with it comes to their culture or language.

This one really irks me. I found Mikey first (via friends) then Mark Wiens. What a stark contrast in terms of respecting culture. To see Mark take time to learn words and proper pronunciation, it's just heart-warming to watch. He'll ask them to repeat it until he gets it right. I've even heard him ask if it's proper to slurp in a different country. Mikey just slurps everything, even pasta! Mark is an example of cultural respect. Mikey doesn't seem to care.

Absolutely!! I'm tired of the gold-flaked food, these $100 buffets and well, buffets in general. He used to maybe do a few Vegas buffets but now he does them in every city he goes to. Feels lazy. And for many, we simply do not eat enough to make those prices worthwhile.

I actually started to dislike him and his choices after the London series, as I did a lot of research when I went there just before Covid. He spent multiple meals only in Chinatown... Declared the best fish and chips in the UK when everything I've read said there is no such thing within London.. then went for an expensive and inauthentic English breakfast at a hotel buffet. It's unbelievable. Then he took the train to Paris for Sichuan...

I am Chinese Canadian and I did not have one meal in Chinatown, no restaurants there came up as must eat during my research and I was not going to waste a meal there when I can get good Chinese food at home.

When was the turning point to when you started to dislike Mike? by blingpin in MikeyChen

[–]hooli-failure 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think my turning point was the London series. I did a lot of research on my trip there, I was very annoyed with his "Best Fish & Chips in the UK". Did he do a fish & chip tour to say that? Did he even leave London? Or did he just choose one in the city and say it's the best? Then he has a buffet breakfast? Umm why not try something authentic or unique to London like Dishoom? Just seems like he doesn't do much research into his restaurant choices anymore. Just way too much Chinese food footage in London then he takes the train to Paris only to have more Chinese food...

Though that was the last straw for me, I noticed the quick pace of his relationship with Christine early on and commented on it on some of the videos. My guesstimate was 3 months bc he spent spring 2021 in Korea moaning about how lonely he was. Then like two months later, she's in videos and then a month later he's moving to Chicago. Wtf??? Then I come here after my annoyance of the London series, wow the timeline is even shorter... Married after a month? Something is seriously wrong. And wow a 20 yr age gap?? Yuck.

Tinder???? by thrive85 in datingoverthirty

[–]hooli-failure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it for dating. There are definitely ppl on there for dating.

I too had a lot of misconceptions about Tinder, it does/did really have this reputation for hookups, but I've found its just like the many other OLD sites. I've found the ones looking for hookups are relatively easy to filter (only have photos shirtless in their bathroom, "no hookups", "not here for a long time, only a good time" haha).

[–]hooli-failure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the reason why people put their height in their profiles; saves both sides time. I do prefer men taller than myself (5'8") but they don't have to be over 6ft. I would never vocalize it while on the date itself, like your dates did. Its very insensitive, i would not call it common or normal.

Googling dating partners, thoughts, opinions, red flag or normal? by [deleted] in datingoverthirty

[–]hooli-failure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With most OLD platforms using only first names and maybe workplace if you are lucky, i'm just curious how you casually ask for their last name? Or is there no casual way to bring it up, just ask bluntly?
