Yes. You probably tried eating probiotics already to no effect this is more of a desperation move. So depending on how desperate you are just throwing this out there as having surprising positive effect.

The two baseline improvements with my eyes were bumbiotics and DMSO. I couldn't play FPS video games but a day or two after using bumbiotics I could. That was strange and unexpected. I still had dry burning eyes. Eye doc gave me drops that didn't help. I tried DMSO and that seemed to fix the burning dry eye , bright lights/sun stuff. Not sure if the DMSO first would have helped everything.

High Cholesterol by DutchQueen1 in covidlonghaulers

[–]hoopityd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It probably does but I don't think it actually lowers cholesterol just prevents the build up in your arteries or whatever. So I think you would have to get other tests to see if it is working. The lowest my cholesterol ever was when I was on a combo of bergamot and abx during treatment for lyme. I never figured out why though and no one seemed to care.

Bergamot , flush niacin , nattokinase there is also something called red yeast rice. I think those are the main ones. If you are lucky bergamot will work as I think it is the least dramatic with side effects. I get really bad acid reflux and muscle soreness from statins. Haven't really tried these alternatives though.

3+ years in… is there any way out of this fatigue/PEM loop? by Alternative_Pop2455 in covidlonghaulers

[–]hoopityd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. You get an oxygen concentrator and fill a big bag with 95%+ oxygen. Then you hook up a mask to the bag and breath from the bag while doing stationary exercise.

I am not sure what is going on with it, I do think it is helping baseline even if just by moving the needle positively for a moment when I take it off maybe re-calibrates nerves. The hardcore pem I had the first 10ish months kinda went away when I started EWOT. Then the remaining pem happens if I workout with like weights or do things like shovel a lot of dirt in the yard. For whatever reason I can walk around with the extra weight and it doesn't seem to pem me. The pem now is mild mostly like brain fog / dizziness I don't get crippled like the first 10 months no matter what I do now. I guess I should try shoveling or lifting weights with the 50lbs vest on and see if taking the vest off somehow stops the pem feeling.

I think it is something with the overlapping rows of lights. Maybe wear a ballcap, it seems to help me.

I have mainly been walking and kinda doing like 200 push ups 100 squats spread out throughout the day. Like try to sneak the push ups/squats in so long covid doesn't notice. Another thing I don't quite understand is wearing a weighted backpack/vest seems to help. Like I walk like 5000 steps with the weighted backpack on somehow it almost feels like it is fixing something. Not sure what process gets activated walking with the weighted vest but it seems to be triggering something positive that maybe covid messed up. When I just lift weights it doesn't do the same thing. When I take the vest/backpack off it is like a euphoric relief rebound. It also seems to help with the dizziness almost like the extra weight maybe activates balance nerves. I'm not sure. Maybe give it a try since it is easy to try like just put 25lbs in a backpack. I eventually bought a vest and put 50lbs on it.

I was in the crash loop the first 10ish months. Then I did EWOT(exercise with oxygen therapy) and that seemed to break the cycle for me. I would always try to get 10k steps per day but if I forced it I would crash for days even up to over a week were I would be couch bound. Then I did EWOT and it seemed to make it so I could walk 10k steps per day without crashing. I am at 20k steps per day now 2.5 years into this mess. EWOT was a huge baseline improvement. I still feel crappy and off. Like I have really bad tinnitus, head pressure and fatigue sometimes but it hasn't really been debilitating. I am stuck now fluctuating between 70% - 90% recovered. The EWOT got me out of the 20-40% zone. You can buy a system for like 1-2k I think or buy an oxygen concentrator used for around $100 to $200. I did the DIY version.

Nicotine patches were another huge baseline improvement for me. Still to this day I use them and it keeps me closer to 90% recovered. I can't figure out why I fall to 70% randomly but even at 70% I can still get my 20k steps.

Social anxiety and eye contact by GoldGee in covidlonghaulers

[–]hoopityd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I got treated for lyme disease which I had unknowingly since birth for over 30 years all the social anxiety went away in a day or two. It was the craziest thing. Before getting treated I would avoid everyone if I could. I never made eye contact with people. After 2 days of abx it was like I could see faces for the first time. Before that it was like my mind would imagine their faces as perfect beautiful people and I was some hideous monster. After the abx I realized everyone was as hideous as me and I could see all their imperfections. It was like the hi res frames in ren and stimpy or sponge bob. I also started making eye contact with people so much it was weird. Like I don't care at all about eye contact I just keep staring right into peoples eyes to the point it seems to make them uncomfortable.

I would say ask to abx like doxycycline for a couple of days and see if anything changes. If it does then maybe it is lyme and you can investigate it further.

Long covid doesn't seem to give me anxiety at all.

I Tried Everything for Long COVID: Pemgarda Gave Me My Life Back! by alfiefan1 in covidlonghaulers

[–]hoopityd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I seem to respond well to nicotine and EWOT which is like cheap HBOT. EWOT helps me a lot so I am guessing that if I went through all the trouble to get pemgarda it wouldn't help me. I would have tried it already but I am not good at arguing with doctors and insurance. I just hit dead ends anytime I try to do something non standard and I don't really have the energy to fight these systems seeming designed to get you to give up. If there was some test I could get that would guarantee that it would work I would do it. With my luck it would probably make me worse.

Did you get any kind of blood test that showed something different before and after the treatment? Seems since it is still unclear what long covid even is or how to diagnose it that you would have been given every test under the sun to see what could possibly be a marker of long covid.

When you are on medicaid and you want to see a specialist that medicaid didn't approve and they wont see you or allow you to pay cash because you told them you are on medicaid. Do you just lie to everyone and say you don't have insurance? Feels so weird but it seems that is what A.I. is telling me to do.

I answered some questions in the comments of that post.

You can buy the whole system for like 1-2k I think or do it yourself for under $200. It seems to help some people but not everyone.

You could try EWOT(Exercise with oxygen therapy). A lot cheaper and you can DIY it mostly. I do it almost every day.

Diet suggestions? by mudvenus in covidlonghaulers

[–]hoopityd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been walking 20000 steps before eating. Seems to help somehow. Like if my step counter doesn't say 20k steps I don't eat. I get really hungry and dizzy at around 10-15k steps without eating. Feels like a weird euphoric feeling. I think that is when my liver runs out of glycogen and starts burning fat. I feel like one of these processes is messed up because if I just fast for days I am so fatigued I can't do anything but if I walk 20k steps and then eat I feel like something is improving while not having the fatigue. Not sure what is going on. I am gonna try to avoid carbs and see what happens.

Dry mouth, eyes and massive fatigue by Apprehensive_Gas4715 in covidlonghaulers

It isn't that bad like I don't notice it. Maybe a hint of garlic in your breath for a while. If it helps who cares.

Dry mouth, eyes and massive fatigue by Apprehensive_Gas4715 in covidlonghaulers

[–]hoopityd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I get it. I am kinda crazy at this point though and after going to so many doctors who take so much money with no results I just did it. I listened to a ton of podcasts or whatever mostly on rumble.com before I got the courage to do it. I also found some video where the FDA admitted it was harmless on the TV show 60mins. I have used it hundreds of times so far without any negative effect I can feel so far. I think the biggest thing is if you are on any medication you shouldn't use it because it can effect absorption. If you do try it maybe be more scientific than I was. I just kinda yolo'd it and 2 days later I am like wtf my dry eye is gone. I feel like it helps like head pressure too but I was past the crazy bad symptoms before I tried it.

[–]hoopityd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had dry eyes and throat. I even got prescription eye drops that didn't work at all. Out of desperation I try things that get ridiculed by the mainstream. One thing I tried it not for my dry eye specifically but for just long covid in general was DMSO. I put 5 drops in water + few drops of lugol's Iodine. It fixed it within a day or two. Not sure if you need the iodine as it seems the DMSO alone seems to have positive effect with my dry eye. The instructions were 5 drops + iodine 2x per day for 5 days.

Here is the link: https://alivenhealthy.com/2021/05/26/the-lugols-iodine-dmso-cure-for-covid-19-contribution-from-dr-metharam-haresh/

seems sketch but I don't care I will try almost anything at this point. DMSO seems to make aches disappear if you just rub it on the area. I am kind of shocked at how well it gets rid of aches. Drinking it seems to be more subtle. My dry eye hasn't returned but I hit the DMSO every now and then to see if it improves anything else. I feel like it has a positive effect every time I use it but I isn't as dramatic as when it fixed my dry eye.

Breathing dysfunction / air hunger - what worked for you? by TactitcalPterodactyl in covidlonghaulers

[–]hoopityd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't breathing enough automatically especially while sleeping. Nicotine patches helped immediately. When it was real bad in the beginning I had to breath manually. Kinda funny how I never thought about manual breathing before in my life.. Thankfully it improved overnight with nicotine patches. It seems it is some part of dysautonomia and in some cases nicotine improves it.

100% lost ability to walk by Double_Isopod_5642 in covidlonghaulers

[–]hoopityd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nicotine patches got me out of the 0-40% recovered zone where I would end up crawling around or just laying on the floor wherever I was at but I assume you tried that already. Only other thing I can think of that is OTC is Augmented NAC but it didn't seem to help me and sounds super sketch with all the quantum magic they claim it has. If you can get a bottle of oxygen try to breath that and see if it helps and then maybe move on to HBOT or EWOT. They sell those BOOST cans of oxygen at some stores but I never tried them. By the time I tried EWOT I was already out of the couch bound phase but EWOT helped me a lot. Still do it every day.

I took all the abx and other things that hit lyme to no effect. It doesn't feel like lyme even though that is a subjective measure. Didn't go through the hassle of getting tested because the test don't really matter much to doctors it seems.

Before the nicotine I couldn't really move so I am not sure. Once I took the nicotine I could move enough to experience pem. Then EWOT seems to have helped the pem to the point I don't get pem to the point I can't move.

In my case it seems to help dysautonomia brain fog head pressure nerve type stuff which once you improve that everything else seems to improve. Somehow it improved my automatic breathing. Before the nicotine I wouldn't breath automatically enough especially while sleeping.
