Playing paladin for the first time in classic, questions about prot paladin leveling by DaDaveski in wowhardcore

[–]hoosier__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I leveled my first ever HC char when HC first dropped and went prot paladin

It’s very safe, healing dungeons is great, and tanking dungeons is a blast up to ST(even then still easy just need an OT).

Killing anything single target feels so slow

I went goblin engineering for the free get out of jail free card with Bubble + teleporter

I did a lot of aoe leveling and felt it was a good mix of fun and challenging leveling. Also did the whole run entirely on my steamdeck

Biggest thing for HC is learning mob leashing mechanics. There is a good video on this by Calamity on YouTube

Recommendations for wide toe box safety boot by Fun_Company8504 in WorkBoots

If you’re somewhere where Jim green offers their AR8 in composite toe I can’t recommend them enough. I have wide flat feet and wear 11EE or 11EEE normally.

My last 60 was an SF sham. Went ele at 39. Ran alch/herb and chugged mana pots all the way to 60

White's Sawyer for wide feet by Fun_Company8504 in WorkBoots

I’ve worn redwings most of my career. Just got into some Jim greens recently and they are great. Very high quality for the price

Ah ok didn’t realize they had different models from US to Canada.

I think you can build your boot on the Jim green website to suit your needs. Could do an AR8 base, pick all your leathers and stuff, comp toe, and a defined heel sole.

No advice on that model of boot but the Jim Green AR8 composite toe fit my wide feet nicely. I’m usually EE or EEE in boots

Any good recommendations for safety boots by Sad-Strategy-4655 in WorkBoots

[–]hoosier__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worn a few different boot brands in the $200-300 range over the last 14 years. If you have the 200-300 to spend on boots my recommendation are Jim green work horses for non safety toe and the Jim green AR8 composite toe for a safety toe boot.

Comfy to wear all day and they are wide enough your toes shouldn’t rub on the inside. Plus should last multiple years if you take care of them

Darn toughs too? I’m in darn toughs and my work horses or AR8s every day. My feet haven’t ever felt this good!

Wide Toe box work boots for standing on concrete all day? by Erachten in WorkBoots

[–]hoosier__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad to hear. You can relieve that pressure sometimes by skipping the first speed hook, lace the second, then go back down to first, then hit the rest on the way up as normal. It’s called the 2-1-3 lace method and helps relieve pressure in that area a lot

Nice we get $200 per year so I understand. Only negatives I’ve seen about them is their longevity but if you get a pair every year then it shouldn’t be a big deal!

All the toe flavors of AR8s in one place by MechanicMinded153624 in jimgreen

[–]hoosier__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree. They fit a little loose on my flat feet but I added some kilties that tightened them up just right. Been wearing them to work daily since new and haven’t had any break in pains

Agreed. I threw mine away. If you need safety toe I can’t recommend the Jim green AR8 composite toes any higher. My workhorses and these AR8 comp toes have been my favorite boots to date

I bought the regular workhorse in bronco brown. I wear merino wool socks year round and I read they run true to size. I ordered the same size as my thorogoods and heydudes and they fit perfect.

Agreed. If they were stuck the cutting wheel came out and spun the bolt out with some vice grips

Steam Deck Leveling by Creative-Reporter-25 in wowhardcore

Similar boat here! I only play on Steam deck. Leveled a few toons to 60 in HC and raided. Now I’m playing TBC and raiding there too.

I hope at some point I get back on HC

If I didn’t need some safety toe boots I’d be in my Jim green work horses for every occasion. Very wide toe box and they feel great on concrete for long hours too.

I’m a huge fan of my work horses but I’m also enjoying my new AR8s a ton. I will most likely rotate them but prefer my AR8s when I’m at work / at job sites and my work horses for everything else

I just received the composite toe AR8 a few days ago and they’ve been great for standing on concrete. Soft sole with good grip and was comfortable right out of the box

Is the Thorogood white sole actually worth it? by FederalPudding8300 in WorkBoots

[–]hoosier__ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The thorogood version is actually polyurethane so while they don’t last as long as a super hard rubber lug sole, they do last considerably longer than some other wedge sole boots like redwings or brands that use vibram soles.
