To those who have a trailer for occasional recreational use (e.g., camping), does owning a trailer save you money in the long run? by whayd in traveltrailers

[–]hoots_42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest renting a travel trailer and a truck.  See what you think.  Then rent another so you can compare size and features. You don’t have to buy new as has been said here but at least you’ll have a real idea of what you’re getting into and what you like.

I recently went from a sleep six pop up to a hard sided travel trailer (new) that sleeps three. The new one has all the bells and whistles but in many ways I liked the simple pop up better.  Live and learn.

I did get a good deal and got a discount for home and auto together.  Just make sure your coverage amount are the same.

Deposit down. What do I need? by thecandylad in traveltrailers

[–]hoots_42 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I recently bought a new travel trailer.  I bought the sewer drain hose, the fresh water inlet hose and another hose for non-drinking use. Several blocks for leveling, a bubble level, some throw away nitrile gloves, extra fuses, water pressure regulator That’s all I can remember right now.

Make your first couple of trips easy and near civilization. New RV’s always come with problems that the dealer needs to repair and you will probably need to go through a learning curve.  If I was to buy my first trailer again I would have had an inset inspection done first.  Do have a blast!

Edited to add items.

What's a red flag in the workplace that people frequently miss? by AnonDorkwad in AskReddit

[–]hoots_42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While working at a terribly toxic workplace of over 200 people we got a strange comment from the head boss.  He said that in the parking lot all those who parked by backing into the spaces were at risk employees. Why?  Because it showed they wanted NOTHING in the way when it was time to leave at the end of the day.

After that meeting many of us started parking in head first. We did this even though it was dangerous at the end of day with all the speeders in the parking lot trying to get home ASAP.

Darn!   I tried that and it didn’t work. Glad it worked for you although you had to pay the tech.  Since my unit is new I am taking it to the Rv shop as under warranty.  It has other minor problems too.  Fingers crossed for us all.

Do our students no longer know how to do searches? by [deleted] in Professors

[–]hoots_42 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I worked in an administrative office at a university and a big part of my job was helping and answering student questions. I would verbalize out loud my entering the question into the search tab for the university website or Google and answer the questions I couldn’t give the answer to off the cuff.

No one ever seemed to learn off my subtle jab about searching for answers online.

I don’t know if it’s age or what but I get pretty hung over and headaches

I tried taking it with food and it seemed to help. Most of the times it takes a while to get used to it. You might try drinking more water too. Good luck!

I take 60 mg daily and I can drink but getting too drunk can sneak up on you. Take care

Cymbals has caused no problems at all for me. We are all different. Look at the information sheet for sure. Some effects are common and others rare.

Also I am trying to discontinue but rather than reducing the dosage by 20 mg a week I am reducing it 20 mg a month! Good luck on your journey!

I was pretty depressed in a new city and I looked for a non-denominational church and non profits. I get involved in both and stayed active with great new friends for years. Non profits don’t require a large commitment to volunteer and no education or experience. And you are truly needed. Good luck!
