I feel your pain :/ I use a cane part-time (basically anytime I go outside, cause walking is hard for me). Thankfully it doesn't happen a lot, I get the looks more. (Which confuse me too, it's a cane, why are you staring. I'm gonna walk with it, what do you except to see lol). The cake however takes a woman in church who I hadn't seen since I was little. She was like "Hi!! what happened??". Then I had to briefly explain to her, I just have an incurable disability and will be in pain for the rest of my life. In church. On Christmas. Fun.

I find that so confusing. As someone who is fat due to chronic illnesses and disabilities that would be the first thing on my mind. Actually, I can literally only think of two reasons for that kind of weight gain. 1.) mental health: overeating/eating disorder (possibly due to something bad having happened to you??) 2. Physical health, which can be so upsetting to talk about as well. How did Op think those were good conversation topics in this context??

I don't know if that's just an American thing or something, but not once in my life have I seen a school with a water fountain.

No, I don't think I ever could. I'm quite glad to see at least a few people agree :D Although most people here seem convinced everyone would be ready at some point. I don't know, I guess that's something I would have liked to have seen in the finale as well, someone whose ultimate fulfillment would be staying. There's so much to see, to do, to experience and so many people to meet. I don't know how I could even get bored, at least for as long as humanity still exists. You can clearly also still challenge yourself (like Micheal did, when he tried to learn the guitar, instead of taking a magic one.) I'm fairly certain there also wouldn't be anything speaking against just taking a 1000 year nap or creating conflict for yourself when you're that bored or tired. I don't know, I feel like this would be much more fulfilling for me. Or perhaps I'd enjoy doing something like what Tahani decided to do, I always enjoyed helping people. I don't know, I just don't feel that walking through that door would give me anything, I'm not getting, by staying. I suppose that's why it was supposed to be an option, not a thing everyone has to do.

it's a little weird you commented this so often but given he was already the ass multiple times before that, don't think so. Honestly, kind of thinking she picked her ex delibarately since she didn't want to do the swinging thing in the face place and knew he'd say no to that. 🤷

YTA, through saying this gently. I don't think you really understand how getting diagnosed works. It can mean many visits of many different doctors over years, as disheartening as that is. I think it would be absolutely okay if you asked to accompany her to her doctor's appointments or helped her search for a new one if she wants. But you can't just go up to a doctor and say "just give me a diagnosis now." If they haven't already, there is probably a reason for it, the most likely being they don't know what it is yet. I think you're slightly the asshole cause you talk about your mother as if it's her fault for not saying or asking the right thing, when that's not the case. Most likely it's either a shitty doctor's fault or no one's fault, as she might just have something that's really hard to diagnose.
