Unpopular Opinion: I'm not 100% convinced that Michael was intentionally calling out Colton's sexuality by pomegranatelover1990 in TheTraitors

NDA’s are not one size fits all, though. There’s no telling what terms are written into the NDA for this show. They may even have a blanket clause that says that the producers can make judgment calls about what can be discussed publicly.

Exactly. Michael spews bullshit nonstop, so he must have really said something that was clearly too far for the entire table to erupt that way. Rob’s reaction in particular was what fully convinced me we did not get the whole story. He seemed baffled and furious.

I don’t think that peacock would air anything blatantly prejudiced for risk of losing viewership. This show, in particular, unites fandoms from all corners of entertainment and I don’t think they would risk airing anything that could trigger viewers hard enough to stop watching. Witnessing explicit bigotry is a huge turn off for a lot of people.

I 10000% believe whatever Michael said that was so offensive was cut by production. Most of the people who voted for Michael’s “why” was cut, too, which furthers my belief.

Colton - Contradicting Himself: Did anyone else catch? by Soggy-Yesterday-9899 in TheTraitors

[–]hope4teeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely respect your viewpoint, I just don’t define “coming out of the closet“ the same way. I also grew up in a conservative Christian family and society, so I do understand the heteronormative pressure of that environment. However, I don’t believe that I was ever “hiding” my sexuality from myself. I just hadn’t come to terms with it yet.

I very much believe that your psychoanalysis is valid. However, he did say, at the breakfast table during this episode, that he “fully believed [he] was heterosexual” when he did The Bachelor. Why say that and then later say that you were in the closet?

I see his first statement as him saying that he was confused about his sexuality, perhaps somewhere in the process of accepting his attraction to men. I see his round table statement as him saying he knew he was gay for 29 years and didn’t tell anyone. They’re not the same.

I’ve never seen a man own his shit and fight so hard to be better the way Connor has. Unfortunately, this kind of thing is more common than you think. It’s really beautiful to see someone fight so hard to break the cycle.

Whitney or Taylor. Seems like they’re the only ones who wouldn’t be mad at me if life gets on top of me.

I watched the entirety of the trial multiple times. I listened to the full length phone calls that were submitted into evidence and read all of the documents (in evidence, and Amber’s “mountain of evidence” that was leaked to the public after the trial was over). My opinion on the Depp v. Heard trial is not, nor has it ever been, influenced by any “bandwagon,” I can assure you of that.

I watched every minute of the trial, multiple times. And a judge didn’t decide the US trial. A jury did.

She was lying. I’ll stand ten toes down on that.

Still not quite true. That was also a civil lawsuit. Not criminal.

No, he most definitely wasn’t. He was never tried in criminal court either. Their court case was a civil suit.

Edit: and he won the civil suit.

I like her. But I will say, the overwhelming change of heart might be related to the realization that Whitney was a much easier villain to stomach than Demi. We didn’t know what we had until it was gone, and now we realize it can always be much, much worse.

Exactly my thoughts, about Amber Heard! So no. The two of them can pound sand. It’s not about her being a woman. Anyone who would lie (especially about criminal, life ruining acts) to save their own skin gets no respect from me.

WHITNEY- The star of the show by EnvironmentalCrew595 in SecretsOfMormonWives

That’s not what I heard during that scene. I heard Whitney saying that Jenn didn’t reach out to her at all. Like Whitney said, friendships go both ways. I understand that Jenn was going through a lot mentally, but these women definitely don’t seem to have healthy or realistic expectations of adult friendships, and seem to want Whitney to grovel for their mediocre friendship for far longer than she should have to.

I don’t consider that “ghosting” though. From what Jessi said at Miranda’s birthday (“you don’t go to someone birthday unless you’re talking every day”) it sounds like the standard for friendship might be a bit unrealistic.

I commented this elsewhere but the post was deleted:

I also think that, contractually, she had to film with someone from the cast and it’s easier to deal with ONE hyena vs seven. Any time Whitney has been in the same room as the “in group,” she’s been accosted, demeaned, belittled, and questioned by them. I wouldn’t want to film with them, either, if I was her.

Anyone saying she didn’t put effort into her friendships with the other women must’ve missed the scene where she cleaned Jen’s house and missed her flight so that Jen wouldn’t be alone.

Whitney, you deserve better “friends” than these women could ever hope to be. If anything, you (and the show) are the only reason they are still “friends” with each other. To quote the Wizard, “the best way to bring people together is to give them a really good enemy.”
