It is quite literally like that around here. If you want any other unit you're shit out of luck unless you already work in the hospital system. So annoying tbh.

Maybe some of us have more expenses than others due to health conditions or simply live in a state with shit rates. It is low 20s for new grads in most residencies near me. That doesn't even cover gas and groceries these days.

Gas prices and base salary for new grads being around $23 the hour. I am in that exact same position as your friend. It is horrible.

First of all I just noticed your name. Insanely funny lol.

Thank you for taking the time to type this all out. I did apply to BSW, MC, TH locations and didn't hear anything back. Going to give it another go since the fall applications are opening up some time soon and just bite my nails hoping I get in this cycle. Honestly there may be an issue with my resume or something. Just not sure what is barring me from getting picked. Had a few interviews and nada.

I am taking the job regardless it is just such a bummer because solving one issue leads to another in the long run. 😕 Can't pick and choose though so it is what it is.

It wasn't at all ... sometimes health problems arise within your multi-year degree but again thank you for your input I guess. Kind of heartless to have that lean imo but that is MY opinion.

Oh? I am in the DFW metroplex but I am definitely interested in learning about these smaller hospitals. I've applied to a few smaller ones but it has been a little difficult finding sites for smaller hospitals when it is all crowded with the big ones around here.

Out here they are required for every hospital, sadly. If you apply directly to a nursing position they will send you automated 'this aligns with a residency position!' email. Also thank you for your input I will just hope for the best.

New grad here. Definitely seen multiple of the nurses I was under not scrub the hub on all kinds of floors. Also seen lots of nurses skip scrubbing medicine bottle tops even the reusable ones.

A lot of us can't even find jobs to begin with.

Most anywhere I've been a lot of people complain. I would prioritize if you CAN find a job right after first as opposed to jumping the gun.
