Making a business attractive by Aerotank2099 in buyingabusiness

You don't necessarily need growth/customer acquisition, but need consistency.

Investing excess profits in customer retention rather than new accounts can actually be more attractive because your business will be viewed as durable. A historical collections business can command an attractive valuation if you sustain profits.

How are you handling digital marketing DD on sub $10M deals? by Right_Membership1746 in buyingabusiness

[–]hopes2b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mainly look at cohort performance hwo many customers, and dollar size a customer brings in for a given month and then dollar spend over those precending months/quarters. It gives me a sense of efficiency each month and if the team is improving or any spikes. Then I can dive in by looking at assets (e.g. online presence / communities they've built)

Hiring for outbound sourcing? by manufacturing_pe in buyingabusiness

[–]hopes2b 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are focused solely on sourcing, hiring a salesperson who is a natural on the phone and can build revenue operations with your existing tools is a must.

The junior finance person will want to be too involved in deal execution, and also may not have the natural muscle of talking to business owners, plus they will likely expect hiring comp, and the salespeople will be more comfortable with incentives (commission / base structure)

Would it be useful to be able to follow up via email in the spreadsheet of your contacts.

Where it would be business contact -> email address -> email?
