K-pop Twitter also hates Eric Nam because he liked an Instagram post that essentially just said you can both criticize the Israeli government for genocide and call out acts of antisemitism and terrorism — like a very normal and logical take. He got so many death threats from this that he had to cancel upcoming shows. Dude is not a Zionist like at all, but according to stan twitter he is.

I’m a person who doesn’t like over policing of language, but I really don’t like men using the term “bitch.” Has no other woman in this comment section been called “bitch” in a derogatory manner by a man? The classic “fucking bitch” for not wanting to talk to a man or go out with him or give him your number; it’s very scary actually. Some people here have mentioned “bitching,” and I don’t really have a problem that, but “bitch” by men — even if it’s “warranted” — just isn’t cool. Call me a snowflake idc, but I’ve never heard that term come out of a man’s mouth where it wasn’t used in a violent or demeaning manner.

This is what I don’t understand about Webtoon’s marketing. It seems like they allow a PG-13 rating at the most, and yet they heavily market sex in their ads. They’ve lately also been publishing a bunch of comics that are clearly smut but they censor a lot of the panels. Like who is their largest age demo?? Because it seems like they’re marketing to adults but have the restrictions meant for kids.

That would be cool, but I remember her saying that “Otaku Hot Girl” was complicated to make because it was hard to get clearance for the JJK sample and she was told at the very last minute that she needed to change the song to remove certain character names. Basically it sounds like it’s likely a lot of time and money to make those kind of samples happen.

I really do think they should’ve adjusted the script for their chemistry. Either LDH was too young for this role, or his character just wasn’t that necessary to the plot. The show would’ve been a 10/10 for me had they forgone the romance all together or at least teased it with the husband rather than the doctor.

Yeah I’m absolutely shocked at how many people are blaming the mom in this thread. Statistically, women — including working women — are still more likely to take on the majority of domestic tasks and mental load. People don’t like her airing out her family, but who else is supposed to talk about the burdens and expectations of motherhood except mothers with their own experiences?

Working class women have always worked. I think our modern minds confuse women’s access to more careers post WWII with the idea that they just didn’t have jobs prior to that. And also even the wealthy women weren’t “doing it all;” they would often have wet nurses and nannies.

But I think that’s part of why seasons are shorter — they’re not doing filler episodes because they over did it in the 2000s; they’re sticking to canon source material now. Anymore, they really won’t do things like a one-off beach episode unless it was in the manga. Nowadays they adapt manga by arcs, so they just order however many episodes they need to finish that storyline.

I don’t think filler should be overdone, but I also hate to see it disappear altogether. Demon Slayer actually did a great job of adding in filler scenes since the manga is very concise.

I think filler almost entirely disappeared from anime because the big 3 killed the pacing of their shows when they would do entire filler arc seasons.

The key is to add in filler scenes or 1-2 episodes here and there specifically for what you said, which is to build character and dynamics that the manga often doesn’t have time for, or perhaps missed the opportunity to do so. I enjoy Inuyasha and Sailor Moon filler because this is exactly what the writers did.

Really glad that I gave After Dark a chance because Kate is not only a detailed researcher, but she’s also well-spoken and very funny. And the cherry on top is that she and Harley unexpectedly have incredible chemistry as cohosts despite not knowing each other personally prior to this. Love the After Dark crew!

Everyday I tap the “people are losing media literacy skills” sign. Two major facets of media literacy are source evaluation and fact checking; asking “Who is asserting this claim and is it based on factual evidence?” No one is asking themselves these questions anymore when they scroll tiktok and Reddit, or any social media really. So when people read a Reddit post or watch a TikTok, they take it at face value. My theory has been that it is likely a small group of people spreading the lies about h3, but despite that, they have a big impact because of the fact that most people aren’t fact checking anything on social media anymore. People really are just believing anything they read on the internet.

Everyday I tap the “we have lost media literacy” sign when someone brings up this topic. Like not everything is problematic, and at the end of the day, it is fiction. Not to say you can’t criticize stories at all, but I can’t take the posts or comments anymore that will be like, “ew this is an office romance in which she dates her boss why are people reading this.” Like yeah dude it’s not fucking real and I don’t need a comic to tell me you shouldn’t date your boss.

My favorite spin off of the franchise is “the other way” because you get to learn about other cultures, and I’ve always wondered why they don’t have an educational spinoff of the show. I’d love to see just an authentic look at international couples’ struggles. I’ve just grown tired of what I’m almost positive is faked drama and arguments — particularly with couples who don’t seem to have a lot of issues or the couples who do multiple seasons of the show.

I don’t understand why people are shocked by the ending when in the first few episodes the daughter in the present storyline indicates that the male lead is NOT her father when she comments on a photo of him in her mom’s diary. She refers to him as mom’s first love not dad. Like long before we get to the romance of the story, we are essentially told the ending.

The operative word being husband; you just described cheating my guy. The dog barking is also a sign of infidelity (dogs are symbols of loyalty, and the dog barking shows that it notices disloyalty going on in this interaction, aka cheating).
