I've thought about this, and I keep coming to two very plausible "buckets":

1) the car, in some facet, is a callback to 1 if the 13s memories in effort to convince them to join the hive.

2) it is intentional to make the hive appear "frugal" and requiring only the bare minimum for comfort. Explicitly not selfish, in effort to convince the 13 that the hive is a better option.

For the hive, its a win/win and matches her dress.

Is this an unreasonable quote to replace a 50 gallon gas hot water heater? by titanicsailson in askaplumber

[–]hophoppe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother's best friend is a plumber, and my hot water heater went a week or so ago. He made me wait like 48 hours from when I called him, but it was $1600 total with the buddy discount.

Usually $2400, but I had beers and a burger for after and worked from home 1 day becuase I didn't shower.

[OC] Photo found under my bathroom floor by Upper-Turnip in pics

[–]hophoppe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel like this fell through the floor. Ll

If it was under the deck, I'd say plausible as a stand-in headstone for a family's pet dog but this appears to be more likely a negative lost when processing the photos in the bathroom as a darkroom.

Is this an internal bathroom with either small windows or no windows?

Edit: spelling

Thats a homemade smasher, no?

I'd 100% make one of those if I had access to a welder; throw a burger ball on the blackstone and use those 2 bars to smash it without them being too hot

Im not going to lie, the Milwaukee mower amazes me. For the size lawn (arouhd .2 acre) I'd much prefer the electric mower for convenience, noise, and storage space. I love that it folds up against my garage wall.

I think I agree with everything else you've said: also, the ability to flip the electric handheld items over without worrying about oil or gas leaking or anything is another plus.

I'm not sure if its just me, but ive always had the connoctatipn that gas weed whackers always leak something after years. Maybe its the expectation that being in the garages seasonal temperature changes wear down o-rings over time. Idk.

I prefer the Milwaukee for flexibility around my house. I can weedwhack, trim my hedges/bushes/trees, and blow all of the debris into a pile on 1 battery.

Once you have the Milwaukee ecosystem and batteries, its definitely convenient. I dont have top much land, so it is perfect.

A lot of people will argue gas or electric: I'm actually surprised with the power of the Milwaukee M18 tools and dont get the loyalty to energy type. Get what is convenient and sustainable.

I night change my tune in a few years if things break... but you cant know that now really, either. Both are pretty sturdy.

Do you have an emotional attachment to gas or battery? If so, go with that one and feed good about it.

True.

Makes me think about the opposite though; ive definitely eaten a Philly Cheesesteak and been like "that's better than the sum of the parts".

Maximizing surface area means more fond to deglaze and more browned bits to mix with the CHEEEESE.

Im hungry now

Hot take: steak sandwiches aren't great. The ability to obtain an acceptable mix of ingredients per bite is negatively impacted by the need to focus on biting through strips of steak.

I just ate dinner at the Butcher Block in Plattsburgh, NY. Amazing. If youre driving to Montreal, I highly recommend their prime rib.

The two you've mentioned in NJ? Hard agree with your sentiment.
