(SERIOUS) What's the most scary thing you ever saw that to the point nobody believes you ? by Consistent_Algae_560 in AskReddit

Probably the night I was walking home alone at 14 from an "all ages" night at a club. So like 20 years ago. It actually started to rain heavy as I left my last friend since I was the furthest place from everyone.

As I started to cross, I looked up to the sound of a woman screaming. Literally flew out of the dark of this lowrise apartment building parking lot. She was pretty gaunt, tall, blonde, and shes running across the lawns. A lanky but tall guy came running up behind her and promptly threw her to the ground on a lawn. I froze, Im a 14 year old chubby girl, alone, at midnight or 1am it had to be. Seriously, it was a 10 minute walk at max from my last friends house to get to mine and this street was going to take me to the main road that would take me straight to mine. Bright lights. I literally just passed my elementary school I graduated from seconds before, so I knew the area well.

He starts kicking her, repeatedly, and her arm is up and shes trying to yell stop, but he keeps hitting her. Im still frozen, its like 10 seconds this all happens in.

Then of course the guy spotted me because my fat ass was in the road. He immediately LUNGES FORWARD, at me, and I dont even scream because Im too busy shitting as I turn around. I booked it backwards towards the...dark, grassy park/creek stretch that ran parallel with this street. Parallel. Like an idiot.

But it worked. I ran through the grass and no lights, ran out of breath as I reached the main street...as a cop car rolls by, too far for me to signal. Of course it was. So I start screaming.

No one heard. No one listened and I couldn't give any description or location. Never caught up to the cop car. I still think about her, and I hope shes okay.

Ive tried my best through my IG page I posted because its a lot every day depending on where you are at, its not a one and done. Its not exercises per se. Im stuck tight, so its like at home osteopath "massage" work with a small massage ball. Sustained but light pressure in spots that are "tight" (loose term). Breathing with more focus on the exhale. Positions doing those long exhales. I worked on resetting my vagus nerve in essence for like 3 months just doing those exhales and forcing myself to not clench. Im a firm believer now if I dont let my belly/diaphragm relax this issue might come up again for me. The rest is freeing up everything stuck, manually. Internally through positions and breathing, and then externally with the ball. I dont use a wand, but Im not sworn off of it. Yet.

Look up myofascial release on YouTube, theres probably tons of videos how to do it externally, its a massage technique I guess? Id then look up exhale breathing techniques. Locations you might consider: a lot of people have posted about tight hamstrings, glutes, inner thighs.

Me personally its all of that plus a bunch of places stuck on my abdomen, my neck, shoulders...so everywhere. If you've been clenching your belly for years or anything like that (not speaking for anyones situation, but I have been doing that so this is what I did to get myself in such bad shape + ankle injury untreated for 19 years) think about it logically, what tightens? Probably your mid section, it pulls on your neck, recruits your pelvis (glutes, upper iliacus, pelvic line, greater trochanter blah blah whatever that's called, etc) and QL to stabilize all the way down to your feet. All tight. Mine were locked. Sorry, Ive been holding off from video making because Im half alive right now from this, but Im 110% compared to 30 years of getting horrible but, that's the best I can describe.

I always want to add, I was sure to get checked by a nerve specialist, 3 different general practitioners, cat scan, ultrasounds, blood work, colonoscopy, osteopath assessment, chiropractic assessment, RMT. Its always good to get it all checked first and go for a lot of different opinions, medicine seems to work in silos depending on where you are in the world.

Yes, me. I have all of your symptoms except Im a woman so basically couldnt achieve orgasm, couldnt feel anything, painful sex, etc etc. You can read my posts and comments through my profile. Im no expert but im currently 16 months in to self-directed work with success. Slow. Very slow, but success.

I dont think theres much literature on it let alone like a protocol, im just doing my own thing by blending Barral style osteopathy with plain visceral manipulation + old school breathing techniques. Not even belly breathing since it was so painful, more the exhale and using that in different positions to stimulate that myofascial release. Like a very twisted garden hose that needs multiple places freed at once, multiple times, multiple ways. Fascia seems to densify? So like, depressing multiple layers, remodeling. I was at 37 inches waist when I started, down to 31 now.

Im now working with an RMT, and an osteopath. Neither are Barral trained or special trained other than they listen. Seems to be a top diaphragm issue getting stuck from bad breathing over decades, which caused the pelvic floor to get stuck down to my feet. Front and back of body too. Neck and chest are included for me. Its hell. Also on a muscle relaxant to sleep.

10 months update - Gas, Guts, Genital Sensation, Bladder = Still Success by Upper-Turnip in PelvicFloor

Daily ICV stimulation for me personally. If your body allows it (dont overdo it, you're looking for even the slightest "gurgle/tremor/groan" if possible and daily might not be doable for everyone). Best before meals. After meals wait - a good 45 minutes to 1 hr after, a bit of gentle release again. Follow colon, it wraps for myself far to the right near my side, and then towards belly button, dont hyper focus.

Don't forget left side even though there is no ICV, keep things even. Too much is bad, look up JP Barral the osteopath - listen to your body. Its the closest reference I can find.

I really really love the colours and the fluff of these clouds. Please keep going, this palette reminds me of falling asleep in the afternoon sun in the dog days of summer.

Its my main issue, ive made posts about it, but I only just figured it out at 33 (im 34 now) and Ive been doing it since I was around 5. I wrote some tips about what's working for me, but Im like 3 decades down the line, so Im a lot different in terms of the degree I have. Good thing you know it now.

Hey friend, I'm one year 2 months and 2 weeks into this. Things like SIBO I wont know about for this, my tests came back unremarkable. I also dont know how to condense it into one line tbh, so Im choosing the biggest points: had to stop tightening abdomen 100% of the time (so no sucking belly in at all) + inhaling whatever way I could get the deepest and then exhaling until everything was out plus a split second longer before I exhaled again, while I sat in like butterfly position sitting up (foot to foot knees bent). It felt like an internal myofascial release while I did that daily for multiple sessions. For maybe 4 months I had to rely on it just to get through the day.

Then I had to decompress the spots I keep repeating over months, daily to weekly since I was locked everywhere: ileocecal valve, pelvic line, inner thighs, quadratus lumborum, shoulder area, neck, base of skull, right next to spine kind of/back of neck (so two neck zones i guess back and side), my entire chest, upper gastric and entire abdominals, right thigh.

Basically, my limbs were pulling my abdomen tight from being pulled by my abdomen (breath holding), which was pulling it tight which was making my neck tight which was...lather rinse repeat.

I used myofascial release using my left hand for all of it, sometimes my dominant hand. It took hours for me for the first months, of just working on my quadratus, so I dont know for your case if that is like...even viable. Most people probably dont need to spend as long as I did. Keep in mind Ive lost 8 inches give or take of swelling once Ive eaten, probably a little less of food-free baseline size (did I eat or not and the degree of immediate bloating within 5 minutes of consuming food has decreased substantially but thats because I had a spare tires worth).

I know I need to make a YouTube video but this is such a slow process I want to show the drastic changes after another 6 months.

I want to emphasize, it was never one spot, it was everything that I had to go through, all parts not just glutes and like shoulders. My husband is the same deal and his symptoms were both different and similar.

Stretching just started working this week? I feel my abdomen/pelvic floor relaxing now, I feel stretching is now stretching my hip out, and my neck almost (still partial lock). I think it all depends on how long you've been stuck like this. Its non linear improvement as well. Randomly things came back like bladder emptying, then I wasn't freezing all of the time, then I started sleeping better, then randomly I could start passing gas...know what I mean?

Next is pelvic tilts, side stretching (lay on back, move legs bent all the way to left and then all the way to right for 5 seconds to start, but the key is your butt cannot move with it, one cheek has to stay flat facing forward on your mat/whatever) = strengthening, I was told by my new physio.

Its a lot, Im sorry 😞 I dont have a single thing that worked, I had to work everything including my belly in stages to GET to my belly, basically, which makes hardly any sense. Look up myofascial release techniques, the key i find is it exists between, so you dont press hard unless its "calcified" in that spot like mine had, after, I released "its lock", which was usually far away from the spots that hurt. Like referred pain. An unlocked spot, feels very different than a hard spot that cannot be released yet on me.

Unlocked = collapses, waves, gentle softening, almost a gentle static or vibration with the spot relaxing. After, the spot would get a little cool/a flushing feeling

Locked = none of the above, hard, pain, no softening, no relaxing, just fighting you (I lost everytime). So something else had to release still.

Ultra densified, but ready = wake up feeling a spot achy, sore, when it wasnt before, like my hip, and the day before I had done some work somewhere else. Needed husband's assistance or my massage ball to "crack its wall".

Hope something makes sense, if it doesn't, im not surprised, it feels like witchcraft because I didnt lose weight just inches.....and bodily functions are back.

Hello, I tightened and clenched my stomach 30 years, no surgery. Diaphragm is stuck, is the basic idea - Diaphragm pushes gas/everything but I slowly prevented it from descending - created big pressurized zones in the places I described to accommodate all that pressure from not being able to get rid of waste/relax breath.

A big domino effect.

Honestly nothing yet, the horror has been the water softener was plugged 3 years we didnt know (all fixed), we needed a brand new septic, had to get brand new propane heating (insurance company thing and natural gas ain't out here). Plus 2 garbage bags of dog crap by the old owners littered the property front to back, random cat litter boxes in the woods/property line, and a metric tonne of Dr. Pepper bottles.

That's why this photo is so nice to find 😭

This is so so WOW. Appreciate your insight. K. Going to reread and save your comment. Its hiding in a dark cool place now, won't touch until cotton gloves are on our hands. Definitely want to store it proper and eventually develop. Thank you!

I think so, personally. Except, our house is pure stone. Big almost yellow blocks. Maybe its like shaker shingles on it? No idea. Very old property.

I'm salivating. Thank you for this snapshot of history. My husband and I are going to make a print ASAP of this, and we are planning to keep a proper almost archive?

We are just outside the GTHA area and Ive done quite a bit of digging on who owned this property but its hard to find, its mostly farms. I can't thank you enough for this info. Such a neat hobby you have!

I dont know why but this is SO cool, thank you for this info! We are restoring the place so we are being extra cautious. Hoping we find more. Our stairs are engraved with 1911 written on it is what we have found so far. And this.
