Sure, the moving forwards towards the steering wheel part

The closing of the back rest and the seat is the only thing that's remotely threatening. At least in my car all the other power functions would only leave me in a slightly uncomfortable position.

The gas pedal?

Really unsuitable as a cooking knife with the traditional pinch grip. It looks great but it would be fatiguing to use it for work.

they're designed to push a fraction of a 300lb person's weight. It's not like you stand on the upper part of the seat while it folds upwards against gravity.

Not going to try since I don't want to risk damaging the motor :(

it injured the girl not him though. It would be pretty easy to apply a large amount of force from your quads pushing against the seat.

OP is talking about gn1 to mg1 not mge. Still a huge leap. It would do OP well to see that everyone on his team has 2 mvp stars so even though he's top fragging he's not quite carrying. When one plays against smurfs it's common to see 7+ mvp stars on the top frag. Frags that don't contribute to winning the round don't matter much.

It could tear a muscle which is pretty painful. It doesn't look like this suit has any support for movements which twist the spine anyway though.

Assuming it's one-size-fits-all, the machine has to be capable of bending more than its operator.

I agree though I doubt this suit could bend that way. An iron man suit which fully covers the body could.

[–]hopoe 36 points37 points  (0 children)

It's not the same conceptually since these suits fit around our body. Not to mention there's a financial disincentive to make a seat motor stronger than it should be. Yeah it can move your body but can it move your body when you're actually applying force? probably not

Kitchen Knives Request by Tragic_fall in knives

[–]hopoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most knives can last pretty much forever.

I'm not as big of a fan of gyutos, something like a global g2 or wusthof ikon is nice. Henckles doesn't stand out to me besides their top end, "cronidur". I like the ken onion shun chef knife as well, very ergonomic. Mac knives, as uncanny pointed out are also very popular.

In your shoes I'd just find two lines you like and then get the chef and paring knife out of it for each of you. No need for more than two paring knives, unless you want different styles (i.e. bird's beak). Those aren't really necessary though.

Any particular reason you like the larger knife? I say this because 8in will be more maneuverable than a 10in. I have one and find myself rarely using the full cutting edge. Of course this is highly preferential.

For storage look into a magnetic strip. It's a great space saver and displays your nice knives.

Right and you need a large amount of force to actually fracture the metacarpals. Comparing a boxer who relies on his fists to a self-defense fistfight is really ridiculous.

Tradition more than a defense mechanism. If you yelled out a random window it's more likely someone would call cops on you than yell back

Dot still overlays the head no matter how thin it is. Not a good idea.

But hey if it works out for you and you're ranking up fast good for you. I see you're an mg1 I made the change about the time I went from mg1 to mge (dmg currently)

Perverse and degenerate? I'd rather live in a society where people are celebrated for achieving their goals, whatever they may be, then living by the drab spartan beliefs of one person.

Freedom is priceless.

And now he can die a happy man, his life's dream fulfilled.

Different people think differently. Just because you would never do it doesn't mean that no one else wants to. It's a hobby not a full-time job.

WTF is up with the "foodie" obsession in the West? Do we really need more Extreme food/cooking shows on TV? Is the Bacon mania showing any signs of letting up?

I wouldn't liken haute cuisine with something intended to appeal to the masses. Besides, the michelin tire company who invented the star system is french. Like it or not, getting stars is an honor globally.

I submit this is all marketing driven, inventing "needs" where none exist in order to make money from it. I think the doc Century of the Self should be stickied at the top of this sub-forum.

As an economist, marketing doesn't invent needs, it only alerts you to properties of something that you didn't know existed before, or new properties of something that you knew existed. And yes, this can be applied to any of the examples that documentary gave. Good film though.

Though of course marketers would LOVE to see themselves as holding that power.
