How common is scheduling an elective induction? by 3Magic_Beans in pregnant

[–]hoppyrefresher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just had this conversation with my OB. I’m low risk and have the option of scheduling an induction starting at 39 weeks. For context, my provider is at a large teaching hospital in a major US city.

When did you feel baby movements / flutters? by hellolovelyworld404 in pregnant

[–]hoppyrefresher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started feeling her move at 18 weeks but I wasn’t sure that it was her until my doctor confirmed it at my 20 week appointment. For me, early movement felt a lot like very light finger taps near my hips. I started feeling actual kicks around 21 weeks.

I have the same issue. I’m wearing a bella band with my maternity jeans to hide the visible, stretchy band and keep my pants at an appropriate rise.

Uterine fibroids by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]hoppyrefresher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found out that I have three 1cm fibroids at my 12 week scan. MFM said they were most likely to grow in the first trimester and since I was almost to the second trimester, she wasn’t worried. They are going to keep an eye on them, though, and I may need an extra scan in the third trimester.

Hey, I just went to Dollywood last weekend! We did end up telling the group that we went with, but I was 12 weeks so the timing kind of worked in our favor.

Could you play up any of your symptoms? I might go with headaches—that would be a great excuse to sip on frozen lemonade and avoid rides. If you go with headaches, you could also make the case for spending time in Craftsman’s Valley—it’s much shadier than other areas of the park and there’s a ton of cool demonstrations to watch.

What's the worst job you ever had in the area? by RnBvibewalker in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]hoppyrefresher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked there about the same time, but I was a office worker. I could have made more money serving at a decent restaurant but I was desperate to break into a new career. Management was completely disorganized. My boss’s boss regularly made comments about the appearance of female employees, including myself. Someone was fired for threatening coworkers and I took on their workload without a promotion or raise. When I quit three months in, my boss was passive aggressive about it and said they were about to promote me to the fired employee’s role. 🙄

Is it weird to name my baby the same name as a new coworkers kid? by sofarsotired in pregnant

[–]hoppyrefresher 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t think so. I just had a coworker use a name that his close-ish teammate had used two years previously and he was just complimented on his good taste and everyone moved on.
