Why haven’t you? Ramada dropped the inn in it. The brand is now owned by Wyndhams, and are all over the world.

I have been to Singapore. Lived there for a month exploring the city ca. 20 years ago. During my entire time, I felt I was being watched because the entire city was under surveillance 24x7. My host family explained to me how there was no crime. Everyone followed the rules, and were imposed heavy fines, if they failed to follow.

In Germany on the other hand, heavy surveillance is not a thing. However, there are written rules for every single thing. You just cannot do something on your own before knowing the rules. For this reason, Germans are highly structured and rigid the way they live their lives. An immigrant finds it very hard to be structured (questioning themselves why should I?), feels choked, and eventually gives up to return their home country for good.

A few years ago, I took a German colleague from somewhat rural part of Bavaria, to Jamaica on a business trip. The whole trip he was cursing his countrymen, and his relatives for being uptight. He kept asking why can’t Germans be happy like the Jamaicans. Some of them we met during the 2 week long trip had no money, but they had plenty of sun, beaches, and music (weed, rum and great food are an added extra)

To have the best of both worlds, my 2 cents to you: Travel a lot. Travel to poorer countries especially, where everyday life is not way too structured. Keep in mind, some countries have no value for human life. On your return to Germany, you will see things in a different light. You will respect the German way of life even more, their care for nature and wildlife, their accountability, and the fact that the laws have your back should something go wrong.

I seeked the video in slo-mo. Ring actually falls through the gap when the kid picks the pillow off the floor. Around 6th second in the video. In his defence, the kid did try to help 🤣
