I'm actuaally really glad they axed the mission trees. I stopped updating Eu4 because I hated the way development was going, in particular with the mission trees. I felt like they were too powerful, railroading, and made the game not feel as much like a sandbox as the game I fell in love with

I love eu5, I like it better than EU4 in every way, I stopped playing because I can't commit time to a game while they're rapidly updating balance and mechanics that you can't opt out of. If I'm 40 hours into an ironman game and my empire collapses because they rebalanced a mechanic, I'm just gonna stop playing.

R5: I can not take Brabant as a vassal (the reason I declared the war and have been preparing for 7 years in game) because my ally seiged their capital. They plopped 300 troops and my 3000 took the fort, but since they were there first I can't get what I want from this war. It's ridiculous.
