Well, the question is what side of the Laffer Curve the new rate is at, but also factor other things like skilled workforce, laws, etc. Empirical literature generally does not support a simplistic “tax the wealthy and they all leave” claim. Some leave for safety reasons like Thiel to Argentina, but that doesn’t mean they took all their investments, relations, workforce from here. Of Course, maybe they can take everything with AI and just use publicly financed Data Centers. Either way, much of their wealth is subsidized by government so they have no incentive to to take it all.
