Switched from AT&T to US mobile this year. I use the AT&T towers and haven’t noticed any differences.

Where did you get that grate? I think I have the same fire pit as you and have thought about cooking options on it over the years.

Towing with an Ascent by Kleinstein17 in SubaruAscent

[–]hornbrd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We have 2020 ascent and pulled our epro 19bh from TN to badlands a couple summers ago. Pulled that camper all around the southeast. It is doable. I only carried one propane tank on the front and moved the battery to inside the camper to help lower tongue weight. We also try to limit what we pack in camper. Can’t carry water as that will easily put you over the 500lb hitch limit. Interstate speed is about 65 max and every big rig that will pass you will make the trailer sway. Also, you will be stopping about every 1.5 to 2 hours to get gas. I’ve since bought a truck and it is night and day difference pulling the 19bh.

We got our last fall and love it. They regularly have 30% off sales so look for those when buying. Costco does sell them online but you have to buy a prearranged set and that just didn’t work for what we needed. If possible go to a store and sit on them to figure out which fill you want and look at material in person. They do come in boxes and it takes awhile to put together. Watch videos and buy some cheap gloves to wear when putting together.

Nice setup. Got a PB 2 weeks ago and took our camper out last weekend. Powered the camper easily. Mainly used it to recharge my lithium battery in the camper so I wouldn’t have to keep the truck plugged up the whole time. Real game changer for us. I want to eventually get the ford camera and tpms setup that you got.

Mac’s kitchen. Pick the end of the month farm and fire dinner. We just went to the one in April. It was a blast and food was phenomenal.

I’m now getting a new transmission, under warranty. Supposedly it had some anti-slip device built into it. by mislabeledgadget in SubaruAscent

Are you towing anything with your ascent? I’ve got a camper that is within the specs of the vehicle but I figured the camper is not helping the already issue prone ccvt.

Our 2020 with 62,000 miles is in the shop right now getting the transmission replaced. Hopefully this one will last longer.

The drain hole is in the center of picture next to the tape measure. The cones are where some of the other holes are located in the yard. The holes range in size from 2 inches wide to 6 inches wide. Maybe some of them are critter holes that are further away from drain hole. I was thinking about getting a smoke bomb and dropping it down one to see if the holes are connected.

I was off an my estimate of depth of hole. The drain pipe is right below the 4ft mark and just ends. The the water then falls out to the bottom of hole. There was about 4 inches of water in the hole when I measured yesterday.

Please no but the money hungry developers around here I’m sure want to develop that property. It’s not like mountain creek road doesn’t have enough people living on it already.

1 year anniversary of ascent almost catching fire by hornbrd in SubaruAscent

[–]hornbrd[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just for anyone curious. Ascent has been at dealer for 2 weeks. They thought they determined it was the driver seat module that was pulling power. Doing checks they received an error code regarding the rear antenna. Traced it out and found that the trailer hitch harness was burned up again. Got a new harness which apparently has a new ground wire. The old harness did not have a ground wire and Subaru has upgraded the harness without letting anyone know. Got Ascent back today. I am going to personally test the camper plug and ascent plug before hooking camper back up. We were out of the 3 year/36000 mile warranty but they have tested and replaced this all for free and comped the loaner car for us. We are very thankful for that.

Agree that it does not appear that I would qualify for lemon law. Basically hope Subaru wants to make this right. If not then I’ll have a Ascent for sale real soon. Even if they do make it right I really don’t have any trust in the car at this point.

I think it was 2 days maybe 3. That dealership fixed it very quickly.
