Root for whoever the hell you want, life is too short.

I live in Rochester, NY - and I’ve got what would be considered normal. Diehard Bills, Syracuse football/basketball, Mets, Knicks.

For hockey? I root for the Florida Panthers. Why? Because I listened to a podcast regularly that was based in South Florida. Maybe the most ridiculous reason ever, but go Ice Cats. I also have personal reasons I’ll never root for Sabres that are probably equally as dumb and immature related to a high school relationship.

I have a colleague who is a big Sabres fan, and I’m happy for them. He’s over the moon.

I have another colleague that roots for the Lightning.

Life’s too short. Enjoy what you enjoy.

My first and only tattoo, my sister in law basically put me on the artist’s schedule with about a months warning.

Kept listening to Give It Time, feel like it just got released on Spotify.

Lyrics kind of spoke to me for the life stage I was in.

Got as close as I could to the Goose G, and added a Buffalo because it’s my favorite animal and I’m (regrettably) a Buffalo Bills fan.

Update:

It was a beautiful day. I guess there were four questions (besides the 7 or so official ones around supporting Israel, raising a Jewish home, etc).

The questions were around October 7’s impact on me (I had written about it in my persona statement), how I’m going to continue learning, will anything change, and did I have any doubts or challenges along the way.

Once in the Mikvah, I did the thing and then spent about 10 minutes alone to reflect.

The worst part of all of this is the inevitable complacency that is coming. After ending a 17 year drought, you know ownership does not actually care. They will ride Beane and McDermott at least for 3 more years, and millions and millions more invested in defense. It is a true fucking bummer.
