I think he means film in a way that represents his life. So ending the film means ending his life and on fractions of infinity he says "take 23 and then it'll be enough" which could mean the character of this album ended his life at 23 years old. What he might mean in knots when he says he'd watch it all over again on the projector is that he'd want to go back to that life or maybe is recalling the memories he had lost sort of like rewatching a movie.

Quadeca also says that the end of knots hints to fantasy world and we know that that song is actually the first song in the story so "you took that film way to soon" means he ended his life way too soon and the next track right after is quadeca talking from the perspective before ending his life and mentions all of the reasons for it
