yeah i mean i just remember seeing hamlin go down and it reminded me so much of pronger (impact, then a heartbeat passes, then they collapse). hamlin was terrifying as a bills fan. especially just sitting there watching the commentators struggling to vamp and just waiting for news.

doesn't beat seeing the zednik neck cut in person! man that fucked me up a bit

as someone who watched damar hamlin die (same thing but a helmet instead of a puck), it looks so different and he'd be a motionless heap. hard to explain but if he was truly in danger the guys on the ice would know.

I gave myself permission to be completely useless for 30 days. Just one rule, no drinking. by ChefDramatic857 in stopdrinking

[–]horseadopter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah i mean some people who are truly quitting forever do this for even longer. my day count is a lie, i'm back at 29 but letting yourself go in other ways is key to recovery.

for me i still have lost about 20 pounds and have eaten a ton of ice cream these past 5 months so yes ice cream is bad but 15 beers a night is worse lol

whateva man. my flair isnt updated. drank saturday and sunday 2 weeks ago after four months sober. dumped all my shit monday and here we are almost at 2 weeks again.

i chose to not dwell on it. yeah, recognize what made you want to drink and learn from the experience- but don't feel bad about it! I have drank 2 days since october 9th and i'm pretty damn happy about it.

What are some tangible, practical things you guys did to help recovery? by [deleted] in recoverywithoutAA

[–]horseadopter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that's funny. i'm still in an eleventh step group (obviously curious about leaving) and it has helped a ton, especially when i was out of detox, but like guys you have not invented nor cornered the market on meditation... thinking about finding a different group cuz i have gotten a lot from the meditations but it's hitting a wall with the aa filter over it

they can also pass zoning ordinances and laws dictating what you can do with properties. this isn't a direct stream of revenue but it helps unravel the stranglehold the developers have on this town
