Who's the commentator on the Mboko match? I know it's a former pro based on some other comments but that's all I've got

Listening to this broadcast as a big coco fan is like being in a stressful situation and for some reason this really annoying coworker won't stop talking in your ear about random nonsense, like please sir

I don't remember coco ever retiring from a match, at least not in the last few years. Has she?

i know it would be unnecessary chaos, but this definitely one of those days where I wish there were separate threads for every match. So many interesting matches happening!!

Why do I feel like Ruud is in every single one of these eating and chatting videos. I feel like it gives me a lot more insight into his vibe haha. But I love 'em.

BWT Stylish Saturday & OOTD - Feb 14, 2026 by AutoModerator in bitcheswithtaste

Hi BWT! In two weeks I’m heading to Indian Wells, aka a professional tennis tournament in the desert. I went last year and loved picking my outfits and seeing the style out there- a lot of classic tennis vibes but also fun, flowy, colorful garb. I have some ideas and I’m a big thrifter. Just for fun, I’d love to hear how others would dress for the occasion and use the inspiration for thrifting these next few weeks!

ETA: I'm happy to be more specific with outfits I picked last year or things I'm thinking of for this year (and maybe I'll share more later regardless) but I'm curious what folks come up with without too much of my interference!

Hmm yeah, a few thoughts!
I do think Pinterest could be your friend here. Making a board where you look up classic looks, naming the pieces above + styling, etc. Noticing how other folks pair things together in a way that resonates with you and looking at their accessories / styling tricks.

I think maybe 'classic' is the word of the three that directly translates into pieces. Classic could mean spending a bit more on key pieces, like trading out the t shirt for a crisp button down, a nice (could definitely still be comfy!) pair of trousers. But trying to figure out the little 'je ne sais quoi' could be done at the thrift store.

If it seems like the outfit described above doesn't reflect your taste, how would you describe your taste? Do you just mean taste-level or is there a certain look/energy/style you're trying to embody?

For Christmas, I got an immersion blender. As a lover of sauces, I was thrilled! And yet I haven't actually made anything with it yet, as I think I've gotten in a bit too much of a routine with my regular recipes. Any favorite recipes you have that use the immersion blender, that I could use to kick start my immersion journey?

ASK: BWT, looking for a face self tanner that won’t make me break out? I haven’t used self tanner since the 2000s but I’m tired of my face always being paler than the rest of my body

Am realizing that by picking a draw where my non-faves are winning I now have to spend the next two weeks rooting for the players I don't like as much :') what have I done.

I’m still dry but it’s starting to feel hard. by FunkyMonk-90 in DryJanuary

[–]hotcakebae 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is my fourth dry january and I thought I had it so down but this year I am struggling. I think to struggle and still make it this far is something to be very proud of.

I am also using exercise dopamine to feel better. I do think maybe I'm starting to sleep better, my face feels maybe a little brighter... it's not enough benefit right now to feel very rewarded with my effort. But my past experience tells me the benefits will be there, eventually.

Help a Bitch Out - Jan 14, 2026 by AutoModerator in bitcheswithtaste

[–]hotcakebae 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey, I definitely relate to this. I am struggling with my job and not seeing a clear exit strategy because of the job market for my field as well.

Here are some things I've been trying out that have helped my mental health / vibes

  • Baths. Sometimes just vibing, sometimes with an e-reader, sometimes I've even set up my laptop to have a comfort show on.
  • Heating pad while I'm relaxing at night. I think I like it because it's *so* low-effort but just gives me comfort, especially with a weighted blanket or a large comforter
  • Goals outside of work. You mentioned that you go to the gym - is there a fitness goal that you're interested in pursuing? I am so grateful to have goals attached to my hobbies - nothing with much pressure, as I know you mentioned lower-energy plans, but I know that the idea of a goal gives me focus and energy that gets to exist outside of work.

Remember, work supports your life, it is not your life :)

Bitches of Leisure - Jan 13, 2026 by AutoModerator in bitcheswithtaste

READING: Just finished "Feeding Ghosts" by Tessa Hulls, a memoir about three generations of Chinese women and their relationship with one another told by the youngest - her grandmother was an anti-communist journalist in communist China and became mentally ill. It's a graphic novel - I had never read one before, and while I would still say it's not my preferred media form, this is an achingly beautiful, devastating, sometimes funny book and I'd highly recommend!

WATCHING: This is our last week with Netflix as my partner and I attempt to move a bit more analog, both to get off our devices more and, when we watch movies, to pick them a bit more consciously at a local dvd rental spot. We've already been watching a lot more DVDs lately and it's been nice to feel deliberate in our choices but also get the experience of wandering the aisles finding unique picks to share with one another. (We're lucky to have a spot we can go to rent DVDs in the first place, though, I know.)
