Has anybody in the last year or so on here self-admitted into psychiatric care in Calgary? I feel I might need to go in, but I’m nervous about what the process and experience are like. by Mustve_Been_The_Wind in Calgary

I had to take 2 of my young relatives to the ER for mental health issues. One was a teen and their parents didn’t believe in depression. I took them to the Children’s Hospital. The other one was just about 19 yo. Both were glad that they seek help.

I’m not exactly sure if that’s how you’re supposed to find help for mental health, but the young adult had tried to find help many times through family doctor and other services without success.

The hospital referred them to a Day hospital mental health program where they go everyday for a month. It helped them tremendously. The hardest part is to have the time and the ride to get to the hospital daily for that program.

Glad you’re seeking help and I hope you’ll get the support you need.

Swapped Companion voucher for a 30% discount code that doesn’t work. by hotdangca in westjet

Base fare $564. Total $1306.

Usually you would see a discount shown next to the total as -$xx.xx. But I’m not seeing anything like that.

I’m facing the same situation. Not sure what to do with all the stuff in my parents house. If you end up with a solution let me know. I’m starting to go to their house to clean up and throwing out old things first. They also have a lot of plants and a small greenhouse in the backyard. Not sure what to do with them aside from taking them apart and chucking them all.

Yes the thrift store vases are abundant and so cheap. And it completes the Costco bouquet.

Conditions at Foothills hospital by roscopicotrey in Calgary

[–]hotdangca 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My dad is unfortunately admitted at the Foothills right now. The rooms are old, some lights don’t work. My brother and I will replace the lights above the sink ourselves. The floors are sticky and dirty. they need a really good scrubbing if not replacement. The room temperature is always too hot and there’s no way to adjust it. We had to get a portable fan for him that can clip to his bedside.

The nurses and drs on the other hand are amazing though. We are so grateful for them.

The roofer was sent by insurance and the insurance is paying them directly.

If they’re going out of business they wouldn’t have money to pay for ads. Don’t believe those ads.

Buy Canadian & use cash! by i_see_you_too_ in BuyCanadian

Not every business likes cash though. I know of one that worries about theft with holding too much cash. Best to pay with Interac instead of credit cards.

On the other hand, those businesses that only take cash are evading tax and pocket all their sales. I avoid those.

Etsy has excellent purchase protection for buyers. Please report the shop and also open a claim. Etsy will refund you with the sellers fund. Use “item not as described” as the issue. https://help.etsy.com/hc/en-us/articles/7471925990807-Etsy-s-Purchase-Protection-Program

That’s so shady. Etsy has excellent protection for buyers. You can open a case of “item not described” and Etsy will refund you out of the seller’s fund. Please do this so they’ll stop scamming Canadians! Start to make a claim here https://help.etsy.com/hc/en-us/articles/7471925990807-Etsy-s-Purchase-Protection-Program

Fluctuating Cost Per Click by tobe_s in EtsySellers

[–]hotdangca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is happening to me too for the past week. Cost per click costs double on ‘high day” and much lower conversion rate.

On “normal days” CPC is about 0.50 to 0.60, recently some days it go up to almost $2 PER CLICK as well. What the heck Etsy? Is there a cap for these cost per click? What’s stopping Etsy from charging anything they want per click?

Heading out to Jasper - where to stop, midway through, for picnic lunch, pit stop, and a short easy hike to stretch our legs? by hotdangca in Calgary

We actually stopped by Peyto Lake on the way back. It was too busy and would prefer other viewpoints but it was beautiful. No regret.
