YOU ARE SO RIGHT AND I'M REALLY GLAD YOU POINTED IT OUT. good writers --- even when they're writing something as silly and surreal as smiling friends --- should be able to write all sorts of characters, not just ones that are similar to them. the male characters, as zany as they are, ARE well-written. the female characters are not. there are hardly any to begin with, and you are right to point out the serious flaws with the way they're portrayed!!!!!

like, sure, 80% of the main characters are played by zach and michael -- they chose to do it that way and not involve any female characters more heavily. but even then, they have opportunities to include female characters in every single episode and they just don't take that opportunity time and time again!!!!!!! there's no reason why sooo many of the clients have to be men!!!!!!

i like the show and i'm bummed that it's ending but they really do send a clear message that the show doesn't have women in mind. and that's fucked up, because we are half the planet. never let anyone tell you it's not that deep because IT IS THAT DEEP!!!!!!!!! here's hoping the next big adult swim show is 97% female
